Some of the best journeys start as detours.

Today is the last day of 2011.  Surprise!  Another quiet day.
I went online and ordered some Hearos Ultimate Softness Ear Filters.
Also, I ordered online the Hibernate Sleep Mask.
Actually, I have been on an ordering binge.  This week I ordered a kite, a ShamWow!, and Zum Rub Body Moisturizer.
Also, have been reading a lot.  John McDougall is my current inspiration.  He says to eat lots of starch for satisfaction.  Just stay away from the oils, butter, dairy.  I'm starting out by adding the starches, and cutting back on the meats, dairy and fats.  Although, we did have lasagne and root beer floats today.  lol  It is the last day of 2011.  Time to celebrate!

You deserve to live a beautiful life!

Yesterday, dad and I went to Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel's.  Later, we all went to eat at Jack in the Box over on Santa Rita in Pleasanton.  Lots of fun.

This morning, dad and I are going to the movies.  We are going to see, "We Bought a Zoo" with Matt Damon.

Bev and Frank Mendez's dog Daisy died last week.  We stopped by their house today.  They went over to the Hayward Animal Shelter and brought home an adorable 7-year old Chihuahua.  She is black and Bev named her "Ivory".  uh, ok.  lol  They had to have her fixed and she is recovering.  She was all wrapped up in blankets in a basket, and she slipped out of the blankets and basket and came and laid at dad's feet.  She is a real people-person dog.  Very sweet.

WALNUTS, SARDINES - ARE OMEGA-3s -  FOR OSTEOARTHRITIS

Fish oil fights arthritis.  Omega-3-rich diet reduces signs of osteoarthritis by preventing cartilage destruction.  Top food sources of omega-3s include salmon, sardines and walnuts.

Do All Things With Love

Yesterday, dad and I went to Southland and got him a couple of pairs of Russell's fleece pants at Sears.  Also, I got some Ear Care, as my pierced ear has become infected again.  This morning I will get some sea salt to use.  Read John McDougall's book yesterday.  Will start applying his eating methods and start eating healthier.

Healthy Nutrition

This is utterly simple and true.  Health feels better than sickness.  You will be happier at your ideal weight than you are overweight.  You will be proud of yourself.  You'll have confidence.  You'll feel so many good things that right now you cannot imagine and I cannot describe.  But the net effect is that you'll like yourself a lot more.  You'll look in the mirror and actually like what you see; you may even love what you see.  You will have honored the person within yourself who longs to be healthy, beautiful, and free of all those burdens that overweight brings.  Life will not be perfect, but it will be better.

And it's easy to accomplish.  All you have to do is commit yourself to following the McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss.  It works.

You do not have to be a gourmet cook to make your food delicious, either.  Just follow the recipes and practice cooking the food.  In a very short time, you will be preparing delicious, healthful, and weight-reducing meals.  Day by day, you'll be making your best effort at creating better health.  And day by day, you'll find yourself looking better, weighing less, and feeling more energy and confidence.  It doesn't happen without effort.  But that's what makes it great.  You earn the right to be healthier, happier, more vital, beautiful, and alive.  Enjoy it.  You deserve to look and feel great.

Kind Words Heal

Mike Gulden came to our house this morning and told us that his dad, Bob Gulden, died last night at 10:00pm.  Rest in Peace, Sweet Bob.  You were an angel on earth.

Today, dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Wendy's in Castro Valley.  Poor Uncle Joe is losing it.  He keeps saying that Jack LaLanne could not have died - he just saw him on T.V. and he looked good.  We have been over this several different times now.  It's honestly a little scary.

Went to go to the jacuzzi - it is broken again.  Turns out, no one ordered the parts.  Hopefully, the parts may come in the end of this week.  I could sure use a nice soak.  I feel tired and achy.

Christmas Day

Dad and I are having Christmas dinner with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel and cousin Tommy today.  We are meeting at Shari's Restaurant in Livermore.  Then we will visit at cousin Debbie's in Pleasanton.  A nice family day.

Christmas Eve

Both the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers won today!
Bill and Sadie came over.  Carlos came over.  Miguel came over.  Busy day.
Tonight, dad, Luigi and I took a ride around our park and also Spanish Ranch II, and Georgian Manor and looked at all the Christmas lights.  Nice day.

Find Peace

Quiet day.  Dad went to exercise class this morning and then for a hot dog and a drive with Bill.  I ran a few errands and pretty much had a quiet day.

Happy 65th Anniversary!

Today is Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel's 65th Anniversary!  Yesterday, Auntie Isabel celebrated her 93rd birthday.  She is getting her hair done today.  We are all meeting at Applebee's for lunch.  Will be a fun day.

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

You're moving forward.

Today is Auntie Isabel's 93rd birthday.  She was born December 21, 1918.  Dad went to exercise class and then they had a pot luck Christmas lunch.  Then dad and Bill took a long drive to Tracy, Mountain House, Livermore, and Ripon.  He loved it.  I was told at the library today, that I could not come in barefoot.  We visited Bob Gulden.  Mike and Barry are leaving to go back home to Redding and Utah Friday and will have around the clock care for $20 an hour for Bob.  I think this is going to be too hard on Betty not having any family near by.  Henry Nunes,  across the street, is very sick and is now on dialysis.  Carol called tonight.  Sounds like we have a skunk right outside between our two houses.  They can smell it, but so far, we can not smell anything.

New beginnings can start anytime!

This morning, dad and I are going to the movies to see, "Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol" with Tom Cruise.

Monday, December 19, 2011

Believe in yourself.

Yesterday, dad and I went to the movies and saw, "Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows" with Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law.  Came home and watched the Oakland Raiders (lost) and made oolio oolio again!  Delicious!

The air conditioning guy is coming this morning to do the annual check-up.  No family luncheon today.  Uncle Joe is going in for a cat-scan.  He is still losing weight and we don't know why.  Luigi and I have been doing lots of luscious hibernating.  I think we slept 17 hours the other day.  I can just count our blessings that we have the luxury of doing this.  I feel like a happy bear in its natural habitat and hibernating.  tee hee

You will do great things. You already have!

This morning, dad, Luigi and I picked up some books from the library.  Then we took a drive to see Tony Jurado's house.  It is in a beautiful neighborhood.  I'm really glad we took a drive to see it.  We took all the back roads back to San Leandro.  The back roads are always the best roads!   Then we drove by Auntie Dorothy's house.  Auntie Isabel thinks it may be sold.  Nothing final yet.  Then we went to Fremont and found the house of one of the guys that dad used to work with.  We got home and made oolio oolio.  Delicious!  Now, dad and bill are out in Bill's golf cart delivering Christmas Cards.  Beautiful day.  And Luigi was such a good boy the whole day.  He gets better and better every day.

Friday, December 16, 2011

You deserve to be happy.

Dad went to exercise class this morning.  Then we met Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel for lunch at Wendy's restaurant in Castro Valley.  Bob Gulden is dying.  He has been our neighbor for 61 years.  He and Betty and their sons, Barry and Mike, lived across the street from us growing up.  Later Bob and Betty moved to our mobile home park here, right down the street from us.  Bob is 89.  Until recently he was in dad's exercise class.  But, today the hospital is sending him home.  They said that we need to talk to him within a day, because he is going to go very quickly.  His body is shutting down.  We stopped by to see him, but there was a long delay, and the hospital bed had not been delivered to the house yet.  Hospice is coming tonight.  This one has kind of shaken dad and I to our core.  Every one I know these days, is at the age of dying.  I try to appreciate every single day, but it is always hanging over us.  Sometimes, I wish it would be over, and I could move on.  But, somehow I know it's always kind of hanging over you anyway.  This is definitely the easiest time of my life.  Pretty boring.  But, I know I'll miss how truly easy these times are.  Life is never perfect.  This end of life stuff is just so hard to wrap your head around.  Is it good?  Is it bad?  It just is.  But, it is the tough part.  Life is about change.  But the end of life is so permanent.  Is there an afterlife?  Is there reincarnation?  Is there.....  These are the questions we are just not meant to have serious answers to.  It's just goodbye, I'll miss you, hope to see you again.  Really.  I don't know.  I don't like this part.  Guess it reminds you to love and live today.  Celebrate life.  It is brief.

There's magic in hope!

Dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel today at Denny's in Pleasanton.  Then we took dad for a haircut.  Nice, pleasant day.

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Happy days are ahead!

Dad went to exercise this morning.  Then he and Bill went for hot dogs and a drive through Livermore.  I went to the movies and saw "New Year's Eve".

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Relax! It's good for you!

This morning dad took a ride with Bill to take Corky's son and daughter-in-law to the airport.  Nice and fast during commute hours as they were able to use the "commuter lane".  I ran to Kaiser for my check-up.  Looks good.  Dad and I brought home KFC for lunch.   That was a fun treat.  Went to the post office - what a haul!  I'll be plenty busy!

Monday, December 12, 2011

Light up your day and someone else's. Smile!

Good day.  Dad and I had lunch in Castro Valley at Norman's Restaurant with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  Good food.  Lots of fun.

Sunday, December 11, 2011

There are always blessings to count.

This morning dad and I went shopping at Walmart and Lucky's.  We came home and had bacon and eggs for breakfast.  Then we watched both the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers.  They were both on at 1:00pm.  They both lost.  I made Ghirardelli fudge brownies for a fun treat.  It was a nice day.  Then I mentioned "On Demand" and for the thousandth time dad said, "What's that".  I said good night.  haha  Sometimes I just run out of patience.  But, overall it was a nice day.

Saturday, December 10, 2011

A fresh start can happen anytime!

Yesterday, I ordered a Kindle book for children to learn balloon twisting.  Also, ordered Qualatex 260 Latex balloons and the Gymnic Faster Blaster, which is a pump to blow up the balloons.  Knowing me, I'll probably make one animal with the twisting balloons.  It's just something new and fun to occupy me.  I still have the harmonica and DVD that I bought last year - nope, ain't done one thing with it, "Yet!"  lol

Friday, December 9, 2011

Dreams are like sunshine. They light up your days.

This morning dad went to exercise and I went to the movies.  I saw, "The Sitter" with Jonah Hill.

Thursday, December 8, 2011

Joy can surprise you when you least expect it!

This morning dad and I will run down to the clubhouse for coffee and hot chocolate early, while the cleaning ladies are here.  At noon, dad has a doctor's appointment with Dr. Mirza to get all of his prescriptions renewed.  Then, at 1:00pm we meet Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Home Town Buffet for lunch.  That's a nice full day for us.  lol

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Treat yourself. You deserve it!

A nice, quiet day.  Dad went to exercise.  I ate tacos and ice cream.  Watched Judge Judy.  Dad came home.  We watched Huell Howser shows.  Ate sardines and saltines.  Played fetch in the house with Luigi.  Carlos came over and borrowed Tapatio hot sauce for his burrito.  Now, I will browse the computer, read my book on my cell phone and take a nap.  It is a gorgeous, relaxing day.  Aaaahhhhhhh.

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

Do something nice!

Dad and I went to visit Dale Palmer at Gateway Center Rehab this morning.  We had to leave him a note and did not get to see him.  Then we went and had the Jumbo Breakfast at Jack in the Box.  We picked up Luigi and went and visited with cousin Cookie and Bev Morgan.  It is a nice, bright, sunny day.  I finished "The Barefoot Sisters Southbound" on Kindle;  and ordered the kindle version of "The Barefoot Sisters Walking Home."  Loved the first book and can't wait the start the second.  I absolutely love reading it on my cell phone.

Monday, December 5, 2011

Exceptional! That's what you are!

Uncle Joe has a doctor's appointment at the Veteran's this morning.  Dad and I are meeting him and Auntie Isabel afterwards in Livermore at Shari's Restaurant.  We'll leave early, and take the back roads and have a nice, long, relaxing, scenic drive.

Sunday, December 4, 2011

Open your heart and wonderful things will fill it!

Woke up feeling happy this morning.  Still reading, "Barefoot Sisters" on the Appalacian Trail on my cell phone.  Really loving this book.  As they are freezing hiking in December through the worst winter - I get all snugly in my bed, turn up my electric blanket, put on extra layers of clothes, cuddly with Luigi, enjoy the quiet.  Today is going to be all football.  Three games to watch all day and night.  Plus, Tiger Woods golf.  Will make bacon and eggs for breakfast.  Last night three police cars with down the block.  Charli has died.  We think she was only about 75. Not sure how they found her.  Bill said he recently had seen her mail box full of mail and he pushed it all back in and closed the mailbox door.  She was all alone.  I'm pretty sure that's how I'll be.  But I hope I'm a healthy 115!  :-)

MEDICAL TOURISM ASSOCIATION

Someday, I would really like to have LASIK Eye Surgery.

Just learned that we can go to www.medicaltourismassociation.com

The MTA website lists 33 medical-travel facilitators - also known as brokers, agents, or concierges - based  in the U.S. and abroad who specialize in setting up medical trips overseas.  They can help you pick the best place to go for your medical procedure, contact the doctor and hospital, get a price proposal, transfer your medical records, arrange for visas, even set up transportation, hotels, and an escort, if you need them.  Their expertise will cost you - Companion Global Healthcare, for example, charges a flat fee of $700 - but the peace of mind may be worth it.  For instance, the price of LASIK surgery in America for both eyes averages $4,400 total.  It's just $500 in India.  Heart bypass here is $144,000 - in India it costs an average of $5,200.  Hip replacement $50,000 - Thailand, only $7,879.  Colonoscopy $3,080 - Mexico, $800.  Dental implants - $2,800 per tooth - Costa Rica, $900 per tooth.

In addition, it is a great excuse to Travel!

Later this morning, Bill is driving dad, Dan Patten and myself to Harry's Hofbrau.  The morning walking group - which dad used to belong to when he could walk - are having their Christmas lunch today and we have been invited.

You were born to make a difference.

Going back to Claudia's for electrolysis this morning.  About two months ago, I went and had about six hairs removed.  They are all back.  Should I go back to the same place?  Sure, why not.  These things don't necessarily work in just one visit.  I have scheduled a quick 10-minute appointment, so I will be in and out quickly.

Went to the movies and saw, "Arthur Christmas".  It's an animated movie.  Picked up Chinese food for dad and I on the way home.  Dad went to exercise and out for a hot dog with Bill afterwards.

Hugs help. Share one!

Our Thursday Family Day has been cancelled.  Lots of doctors appointments.  Uncle Joe has to go get lots of blood tests at the Oncology Department.  They just cannot seem to find out answers to his stomach problems; the lump on his stomach; his diarrhea.  He just keeps getting sicker.   Auntie Isabel has eye doctor appointments.

So, dad and I are going to the movies and see "The Muppets".

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Follow your heart. It won't steer you wrong.

Dad is going to exercise and afterwards, they are having their, last Wednesday of the month, exercise lunch.

I am taking Luigi to PetSmart to get groomed.

Big shopping day.  Went online to QVC tonight, and ordered knives, cutting boards, and 22 oz. tumblers.

Oh, yes!  Also, bought a new electric blanket today.  I was so freezing cold last night.  Very excited about snuggling in and keeping nice and warm tonight.

Even though the weather is starting to grow cooler, I went barefooting all day running around doing errands.  I love it so much, I cannot explain.  It is such a free feeling, and I feel so in touch with the earth.

Positivity is the best fuel there is!

This morning, dad and I are going to Castro Valley and visit Rose Lopes at her Senior Care house.  Last night, Ginny Palmer called, and they have moved Dale to Gateway Care and Rehab over on Patrick Street, to heal from his fall.

This is a practice picture that I took with my Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V cell phone.  Then went to "Gallery" on the phone.  Emailed the picture to myself.  Copy and pasted into my blog.  Pretty cool, huh!

Helping changes two lives; someone else's and yours!

Uncle Joe is going to the doctor this morning and getting the results to his latest tests about his stomach this morning.  Then dad and I are meeting him and Auntie Isabel in Dublin at the Waffle House.  This whole week has been so great.  Calm, fun, and positive.

The good news is, Uncle Joe has a bacterial infection.  The bad news is, the prescription costs $500!  So, they are going to take the prescription over to the Veterans hospital and see if they can get it filled there for $8.00.  They most likely will make him see one of the Vet's doctors, so we will see how this proceeds.

Dad and I went to Kaiser to visit Dale Palmer.  He is 90 years old and had a bad fall.  He was sound asleep, so we left him a note.

Today is Bill and Carol's 31st Anniversary.  We called and sang "Happy Anniversary" to them.  Bill said he forgot that today is there anniversary.  (Oops.)

5:00pm  Good News!  Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel went to the Veteran's Hospital - literally, within 15 minutes, they add the prescription approved - 3 medications - total $24.00.  The medicine will be mailed to them and they will receive it within a week.

Sunday, November 27, 2011

You are so loveable.

Bill brought us pizza last night.

This afternoon, dad and I are going to Uncle Joe's and Auntie Isabel's.  Tommy always goes to there house every Friday night and Sunday night.  We are having a big Thanksgiving dinner.  I'm very excited.  I love it!

Saturday, November 26, 2011

Yes, you can accomplish anything!

For a number of reasons, many health-related - I have not worn my pierced earrings for a very long time and the inside of the back of my right ear had closed up.  So, Today - I went to Southland Mall to the Piercing Pagoda and had my ear
re-pierced.  I am so glad that I did.  I ended up spending $68 because they make you buy a new pair of earrings.  Tonight, I am sitting here very happy that I will be able to start wearing pierced earrings again.

Talked to CoCo today.  They are now officially "snow-birds".  Tuesday they set out for Idaho, in their new 5th Wheel.  Right now they are in Oregon and will eventually spend a few months back in Modesto.

Dad and I ran around including Walmart.  We ate all kinds of delicious left-overs and good food from Bill and Carol.  Plus, today I bought us a whole watermelon and some egg nog.  lol  Good combination.

I am especially enjoying my Android cell phone, which includes Kindle.  I am reading, "The Barefoot Sisters", "The Ultimate Vegan Guide",  "Living Large in a Small Tin Can" (the long, long honeymoon in an RV), "Quick-fix Vegan", and more.  I AM LOVING IT!

Friday, November 25, 2011

Believe in you!

This morning, dad and I are meeting Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel, after her hair appointment, at the donut shop at "A" Street.

Thursday, November 24, 2011

Happiness is yours to choose.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dad and I are having Thanksgiving with Uncle Joe, Auntie Isabel and cousin Tommy at Harry's Hofbrau in San Leandro today.  This will be a fun day.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

You can change your world!

Dad and Bill went out for hot dogs and a drive.  I went to the movies and saw "Hugo" in 3D with Sir Ben Kingsley.  Then I went and bought produce and made  greens stir-fry with lots of garlic.  Delicious.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Take a shortcut to happiness. Smile!

Dad and I went grocery shopping this morning.  This afternoon we had lunch in Castro Valley at McDonalds with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  Beautiful day.

Monday, November 21, 2011

This day has so many positive possibilities!

Last night dad got very sick.  Bad tummy ache.  He finally threw up and felt better for a while.  Then he got very sick again.  We called Kaiser, but he did not want to go to emergency.  If he makes it through the night, we will see how he feels in the morning.

Dad had a little diarrhea last night.  Had to turn his mattress and wash and change his sheets.  He did get some sleep on the couch.  He says he is feeling a little better, but so far, I cannot get him off the couch.  So far, he does seem to be doing better.  Cross fingers.

6:00pm - Dad is feeling much better.  Seems like he may have had a 24-hour bug.  Now, let's stay healthy for a long, long time.

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Your dreams are waiting to be lived!

The Raiders and the 49ers both have games today. (They both won!)

Last night, it was fun watching Tiger Woods play great golf again!

This morning, I watched the Justin Bieber DVD, "Never Say Never".  I Love It.

Saturday, November 19, 2011

Believe!

Today is the Cousin's Family Day.  Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel do not want to attend the Cousin's Family Day's anymore.  They are doing well, but they are definitely slowing down.  Uncle Joe is not looking as well.  He has been having diarrhea for several months now.  They have given him every test in the book.  He is losing weight and we just cannot find out what is happening.  Very frustrating and exhausting.  He is so loving and terrific, but this health-thing is taking it's toll.  He is 89, and of course, it is a little scary.

Great turn-out at Fuddruckers.  Kenny, Lisa, Jim, Carlotta, Debbie, Kim, Landon, Annie, Krissy, Tyler, Mason and Sydney.  Deaunn was not able to come today, because yesterday, her husband, Jean - and emergency heart surgery and they put a stint in.  The procedure went well and he is doing well.

I have been downloading  so many Kindle books onto my Android cell phone.  I will never have time to read them all.  It is a little harder to read on that little screen than it is to read a book.  The screen is only about three inches.  One of the books is, "The Ultimate Vegan Guide, Compassionate Living Without Sacrifice".  I keep reading all these books about eating healthy, and then I keep eating very badly.  But, again, I want to try and eat much better.  Years ago, when I lived in Colorado, I was a vegetarian for two years - and I felt the best that I ever felt.  It seems so much more difficult when I am with my family.  But, actually, I think my dad would go along with me now.  He just likes it alot when I fix the food for him.  And even the nights that I only fix a big salad, he really likes it.

First, dad and I are going to stop by See's Candy at Stoneridge.  Dad received a coupon - buy one box - get one box free.  We would like to get a box for Bill and Carol next door.  These two are so good to us.  If I wrote down, every single day, what they do for us - it would be overwhelming.  They are the best!

 --[MICHELANGELO] --

"What spirit is so empty and blind, that it cannot grasp the fact that
a human foot is more noble than the shoe and human skin more beautiful
than the garment with which it is clothed."

I read this on one of my of my barefoot "groups" [SBL] Digest Number 5289.
SBL stands for, "The Society for Barefoot Living".
Yes, I read a lot of "groups", about vandwelling, vandwellers, and barefooting.  No wonder I am all alone.  I am a very strange person.  Oh, well.  I LOVE IT!

Today is Friday.  Usually, a day for myself.  Dad usually goes to exercise.  Then, he and Bill usually go out for hot dogs and a nice drive all around the Bay Area.

But, Bill's son, Kevin, is still visiting from Hawaii.  And poor Henry, across the street is still not going to exercise.  He first had a serious kidney problem, then serious heart problems.  He spent last week in the hospital.  So, just like Wednesday, since dad get depressed and sad quickly and easily, we are going to the movies this moring.  We are going to see "Jack and Jill" with Adam Sandler.  Good news is, it is going to rain today or tonight - and dad loves the rain!  It will be a fun day.  And Luigi is being real cuddly.  I love that.

"GO CONFIDENTLY IN THE DIRECTION OF YOUR DREAMS!  LIVE THE LIFE YOU'VE IMAGINED.  AS YOU SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE, THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE WILL BE SIMPLER."
                             - HENRY DAVID THOREAU, AMERICAN NATURALIST

This should be a fun day.  Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel have a big steak bone that they want to bring to our house for Luigi today.  We are going to surprise them by having spaghetti, chow chow, spinach salad, salami and cheese and just a great lunch here at the house.  Also, I am going to surprise Auntie Isabel, as I have bought her favorite - See's Candy Black Licorice Medallions.  Think also, we'll give Luigi a nice shower this morning, so that he is nice and soft and smells real pretty.  A couple of nights ago, I cleaned his eyes and cut the hair around his eyes and face.  Does this all sound too simple?  Yes, I know it does.  And I Love It!  I love the simple life.

    Wednesday, November 16, 2011

You don't have to be the best to be fabulous!

This morning I mailed another book that I sold on Amazon.  This afternoon, dad and I went to the movies and saw, "J. Edgar" (Hoover), with Leonardo DiCaprio.  Direct by Clint Eastwood.  Also, "music" by Clint Eastwood.  Wouldn't it be fun to be so talented!

We had bacon and eggs for dinner.  This was a beautiful, pleasant, wonderful day.

    Tuesday, November 15, 2011

    You can beat any challenge!

This morning, I am going over to Fry's Electronics and having my new Sirius Satellite Radio - the Starmate 5 - installed.  Craig says that there is also a Starmate 8 - but, Sirius didn't have any available when I needed one.  Hopefully, all will go well.  My current one is not sitting on a cradle, it is permanently in, and I'm not sure how this will go.  Neither Craig, nor Skipper could get it removed.  Cross fingers this all goes well.  When I had this first one put in, I literally had to go back about twenty times, as there were so many problems.  Hope this one goes a lot smoother.

    Monday, November 14, 2011

You're one of the blessings other people count.

LindaRae and Craig are leaving this morning to go visit her brother Jerry and his wife Elena in Sutter Creek, up by Placerville.  Their oldest daughter Chris and her two children (they all currently live in Costa Rica) are currently visiting  also.

Dad and I got the house all cleaned up, vacuumed, dusted, etc.  Then we went to Raley's and picked up some liquids for Uncle Joe.  He is having his colonoscopy tomorrow.  We visited with them for a couple of hours.  I am very tired and we came home.  Poor dad.  His tendinitis arm and hurt leg from the fall he took by the car, Saturday night.  He doesn't know exactly what to do, and so far, he does not want me to call any of his doctors.  He is very sore.  So, we are playing it by ear for the moment.  Right now, I just want a nice long nap and rest.  Glad to have the house back to ourselves.  And my little Luigi is all cuddled up beside me.  Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh  (Long sigh of relief).  Smile.

    Sunday, November 13, 2011

    You deserve the very best!

Tonight, LindaRae, Craig, dad and I went to Chef's Experience China Bistro for dinner.  Good food lots of fun.

Earlier today, LindaeRae's son Dustin, his wife Erin, and their children Logan and Chloe came by and visited.  Luigi showed them all of us tricks.  Great visit.

Of course, in between all the activities we watched the San Francisco 49ers WIN!

Naturally, dad is a little sore from his falls and scrapes last night, but he is doing great.  Just a little slower.  Early this morning, dad and Bill went in Bill's golf cart and passed out flyers.  Just an all-around beautiful day.

We finished off the Krispy Kreme donuts.  Had lots of salami and cheese.  I sold and wrapped another book that I sold on Amazon.com.  Yesterday, I ran back to Krispy Kreme and bought the cup that Skipper said he would love to have.  It's all wrapped and ready to mail.  I hope he is Happily Surpised when he receives it!!

There's so much to like about you!

Craig is making us home-made German pancakes this morning.  None of us have had them before.  They sound really delicious.

Skipper and Cheri have to leave today and pick up Cheri's mom in Folsom by Sacramento.  I'm going to miss them terribly.

Tonight, dad and I went to the Park's celebration of 34 years.  We have been here from the beginning.  Lots of fun.  Good food.  Fun people.  Great music.  Getting back into the car to come home, dad fell.  Pretty scary.  Fortunately, Lindarae was there, and Dan Scott helped get dad back up off the ground and into the car.  Yes, I took another little xanax.  These falls make me nervous.  But, he does seem okay.  More shaken up really.  We brought him home, and gave him a couple of drinks.  :-)    Now, I am Very Tired.  Quite the end to a beautiful day.  Did I mention that I went barefooting around town this afternoon.  I LOVE IT!

    TEXAS ROADHOUSE - RIBEYE STEAK!

I want to remind myself that I LOVE the Ribeye Steak - smothered in mushrooms!

Today, LindaRae, Craig, Skipper, Cheri, dad and I, all went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch.  For Veteran's day, they offered FREE lunches!  Everything was so Delicious and we had the BEST time.  Then we all went shopping at Office Max, Fry's Electronics, etc.  Throughout the day, they bought three boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts!  Tonight, we had LindaRae's homemade spaghetti again, leftover from last night.  Along, with Cheri's chow chow, and garlic bread.  What a Feast!  We all played fetch with Luigi, and watched the Country Music Awards, and laughed and talked.  Great Day!

    Thursday, November 10, 2011

    You are 100% special.

This morning has already started off lots of fun with Skipper and Cheri.  At 8:30am the cleaning ladies are coming.  The four of us are all going to McDonalds for breakfast.  Then at 1:00pm, we are all meeting Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Home Town Buffet for lunch.  This is a great day.

9:00pm  - LindaRae and Craig arrived at 3:00pm.  LindaRae made home made spaghetti gravy and Cheri made chow chow.  The Oakland Raiders Won!  We had such a great day and a great night.  So much fun.  Even Bill and Sadie came over and had dinner with us.  Best day ever.

    Wednesday, November 9, 2011

    There is greatness in you.

Skipper and Cheri should be arriving about 7:00pm or later.  They will stay for a couple of days.  They are also bring Cleo, their dog.  I love when they come to visit.  Today was so beautiful, dad and I took Luigi across the street to the park and played fetch.  This was a beautiful day.

A single smile can change everything!

I ran around and got a lot of errands accomplished this morning.  Went to the library and got Tina Fey's Audiobook, "Bossy Pants".  Listened to it for about an hour.  I'm enjoying it.

Dr. Waterhouse called dad to check on his tendinitis.  We have been giving him the Norco pain pills and they are really helping him.

Tonight, dad and I went out to dinner for mexican food at Chevy's.  We had a good time.  This has been a busy, enjoyable day.

    Monday, November 7, 2011

    Help yourself, too!

This morning, both dad and I have 11:30am appointments with Dr. Hardy, the dermitologist.  Dad to check his moles for melanoma. (Everything looked good!)  And me, to remove one ugly mole.  When we are done, we will meet Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel in Pleasanton.

Uncle Joe made us hot Italian sausage on sourdough rolls.  Delicious!

Have I mentioned lately, that I still dream every day of someday getting a Class B van and traveling??  My dream is still alive.  It's on my mind 24 hours a day, even though I never have anyone to share my dream with.  Just, my own private, little (big) dream.  I just wanted to write it down, in my very own blog, because it is important to me.  Will I be lonely when the day comes, or ecstatically happy.  Somehow, I believe Happy Resonates Within Me!  Smile!

    Sunday, November 6, 2011

The real secret to success is positive thinking.

This morning, dad and I went to the movies and saw, "Tower Heist" with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy.

We enjoyed watching the 49ers win!

The Raiders were great the first half - and totally fell apart the second half.  Then we caught up with four episodes of Huell Howser from PBS.  His shows are on seven days a week, and it is our favorite program(s) these days.

Luigi was nothing but energy all day and all night.  This little guy never slows down!

9:00pm - Dad had an acute episode of his tendenitis in his right arm and shoulder tonight.  Excruciating pain and frozen arm to his body.  I quickly gave him his Norco pain medicine and shots of Duggan's Irish Cream and call the Kaiser Advice Nurse.  He also was able to start squeezing his ball, and that also seemed to help.   Within twenty to thirty minutes, his arm felt better and he was able to start moving it again.  He says that he does not remember his tendenditis episode from a year ago October at all.  Anyway, I am so happy that he is feeling so much better.  Tonight he will take a sleeping pill and get a good nights rest.

    Saturday, November 5, 2011

    Surround yourself with positivity!

Thursday, I left my sunglasses in Uncle Joe's car.  So, today, dad and I are going over to their apartment and pick up the sunglasses.  Then, the four of us will all go out to lunch together.  Should be a fun day.

    Friday, November 4, 2011

    Light up someone's world. Smile!

This morning I have an appointment with Dr. Chan to check my moles.  I think they are pretty much okay, but it's for peace of mind.  I would like a couple removed because they are a little itchy and I have started picking at them.  But, you know, they usually don't want to remove them.  It should be a pretty simple appointment.  Also, I think I'll ask him about a second colonoscopy.  It has been five years.  Since mom had colon cancer and an ileostomy for ten years, dad's dad died of colon cancer, and dad always has polyps removed when he is tested - I think it wouldn't hurt just to keep an eye on things.

6:00pm  - Good doctors visit.  My doctor froze off three tags.  The "Roving Dermitologist" happened to be dad's dermitologist, Dr. Hardy!  Because of our unusual last name, he asked if I was dad's daughter.  I told him that dad has an appointment with him Monday.  He said that he is going to schedule a visit for me at the same time, and remove one mole!  This was such a great visit.

Also, I went to the movies and saw, " A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas".  Although, I did not see it in 3D.  Nice, quick, cute movie.

    Thursday, November 3, 2011

    You're doing a great job!

Tuesday night, Auntie Isabel had emergency eye surgery on her right side, blind eye.  She has been having so much pain in that eye and it really became acute pain.  She says the surgery helped, but she thinks there is still more.  So, she may have to have a second surgery.  So, this is a wait and see.  Yet, she still wants "Family Day" today.  She is a strong trooper!  Dad and I will go pick her and Uncle Joe up, and we are all going to Shari's Restaurant in Livermore.  Definitely, one of our favorite restaurants.  The weather is supposed to turn cold today, and possibly rain.  It will be fun, but I will miss our beautiful, "Indian Summer" weather.  I enjoyed every single day of it.

    Wednesday, November 2, 2011

Your opinions and ideas need to be heard.

Beautiful warm, pleasant day.  Dad went to exercise class.  Luigi and I did laundry and made nachos for breakfast.  Three batches!  hahaha  Sold one of my books on Amazon and ran to the post office and mailed it.  Took it nice and easy all day long.  Tonight, dad, Luigi and I went to the park and played fetch to wear Luigi out.  He has a Lot of Energy!  We finally experimented tonight.  We like the cheese sandwiches in the toaster oven with just one slice of cheese.  (Two slices of cheese stay cold -  brrrrrrr).  Is it wrong to be this relaxed?  I Love It!!

    Tuesday, November 1, 2011

The past doesn't decide the future. You do.

Another beautiful, sunny day.  Went to Best Buy this morning, to get help with my "not working" Sirius satellite radio.  It's been out for over a month.  Long story short - after over an hour on the telphone with Sirius - my radio appears to no longer be happy.  So I had to order another radio from Sirius for $141.00.  They tell me I can have three radio's to cover my "Lifetime" membership.  This radio only lasted for six years, as I bought it in 2005.  Doesn't six years seem like a very short time to you for a radio??  We have radio's that are over sixty years old.  After all was said and done, I had forgotten to tell Best Buy that also my regular radio is not working.  Not sure how that is all connected.  Maybe that might have made a difference.  Any way - the new radio is on it's way.

Ran around all day and got lots of errands done.  Also, went barefooting!  I do LOVE going barefoot.  Wish I could do it all the time.

Dad and I went to Taco Bell tonight and got their latest Chalupa special.  Delicious!  Messy, but delicious.

This nice, warm weather always makes me so happy.

Tonight, I finally got brave and tried both - black strap molasses, and - balsamic vinegar.  I tasted about 1/2 teaspoon of the black strap molasses.  Not bad.  A little different.  An acquired taste.  But not too bad.  Then, later I used the balsamic vinegar on my green salad.  Pretty fun and tasty.  I also tried kale.  Wasn't too crazy about it.  I threw it all out.  I'll try it again sometime.  I don't need to enjoy everything the first time around.  I wanted to celebrate my successful braveness.  I'm such a finicky eater.  But, I really do want to eat healthier.  One step closer!  Smile!

"A RACE FOR LIFE", BY RUTH HEIDRICH, PH.D.

I want to bookmark this book, and her other book, "Senior Fitness",  and this author as "Senior Fitness", has had a profound affect on me.

Today, dad and I are going to Pleasanton to Uncle Joe's and Auntie Isabel's.

    Sunday, October 30, 2011

One hug can make all the difference!

This morning, dad, Bob Gulden and I went for free breakfast at Spanish Ranch II Mobile Home Park, along with the other members of dad's exercise group.  Including, Joyce and Dick Smith, Judy, and their Exercise Instructor, Sue.  We had such a great time.  Delicious food, lots of laughter.  We all stayed for two hours.

    Great San Francisco 49ers game!

Great PBR (Professional Bull Riding).  Tonight was the Finals in Las Vegas.  Silvano Alves won One Million Dollars!

    Fun Day!

Sounds like Bill and Sadie are coming over now.

    Saturday, October 29, 2011

You were born to make a difference.

Nice peaceful day.  Dad, Luigi, and I ran around and did a few errands.  Then we went to the dog park.  Very Hot!  Came home and we all watched T.V.  Had cheese sandwiches and then bacon and eggs for dinner.  Of course, Bill and Sadie came over and played.  Just a nice, peaceful day.

    Friday, October 28, 2011

    Smiles are contagious. Catch one!

Went to the movies today and saw, "Puss in Boots", with Antonio Banderas.  Also, had my hair colored with a little more red.

Great Game Seven of the World Series.  St. Louis Cardinals, with manager, Tony LaRussa Won!!!

    Another gorgeous summer weather day!

    Thursday, October 27, 2011

Unlimited potential. That's what you've got!

Today, dad and I met Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at "The Mexican" restaurant on Hesperian for lunch.  Nice restaurant, but the food left something to be desired.  We laughed and talked and had fun for a couple of hours, but we all agreed that we won't be coming back.  It really all begins with good food.  Period.  lol

Later, dad and I, Luigi, Bill and Sadie, all went across the street and played with the dogs.  This has been a really nice, easy day.

    Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Follow your heart. You know what's best for you!

Wonderful day.  Dad went to exercise, followed by going out to lunch to Sizzler's Restaurant with his exercise group.

I went grocery shopping.  Bought chicken leg drums and baked with a packaged seasoning.  Pretty good.  Bought lots of delicious goodies.

We had a fun day together this afternoon.  I don't know how one project always leads to ten projects, but I am always so busy.  For a gal who doesn't work, I feel like I'm running all the time.  I am very grateful for having such a busy life!

    Tuesday, October 25, 2011

    You're someone worth believing in!

Beautiful day.  Left the house about 8:30am.  Bought a new top at K-Mart.  Went to the movies and saw, "Foot Loose 2".  Good movie.

Went to Lake Elizabeth and walked around the Lake.  Listened to Pandora music on my cell phone.  Came home a little after 4:00pm.  Made salads and cream of chicken soup for dinner.  Now relaxing with Luigi.

    Monday, October 24, 2011

Let your most beautiful self show. Smile!

Lots of running around and fun today.  Simple day.

Bill and Sadie came by early this morning.  Lots of activity.

Then, dad and I ran to the dollar store and Rite-Aid.

First, started at In-n-Out, but cousin Debbie called to join us all for lunch, so along with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel we drove to Denny's and the five of us had a great lunch.  Lots of fun.

Afterwards, took dad to get his hair cut.

Then, back to the dollar store and back to Rite-Aid for a second round.  lol

    Good day!

    Sunday, October 23, 2011

There's always at least one reason to smile.

The gorgeous weather continues!!!  I went to the movies this morning and saw, "The Way", with Martin Sheen.

    Good Movie!

Also, used my GPS Navigation with my Optimus V cell phone for the first time.  I really like it.  The volume is a little low, so I really sort of need to already know where I am going, but it was a lot of fun.

Also, used my Geocache app for the first time.  Didn't really find the exact spot.  Just sort of a quick, first test run.  It will be fun to learn more about that.

Oh, yes!  I also learned how to use Pandora on my cell phone.  I walked all around and listened to great music!

    Saturday, October 22, 2011

The first step to moving forward is choosing a destination.

Dad and I are going to the boutique at the club house this morning.  We just enjoy looking around a little, seeing his friends, and having hot dogs.  Usually, it's a nice little trip out of the house.  It's a beautiful day.

    Found 2 new websites:
www.GreaterGood.com sends aid to nonprofits helping kids, animals and more!
    Donate with a single click!

Send a free thank-you e-card at www.care2.com/send/catthankyou1.html   and the site donates to one of over 350 worthy causes!

We did get to the boutique, but we never did have a hot dog.  Later, I did run over to Lucca's Deli in Castro Valley and got a Salami and pepper jack cheese on sour roll.  Delicious!  Then I relaxed over at Kennedy park.

4:30pm Dad, Luigi, Bill, Sadie and I went and played at the park across the street.

I LOVE these Indian Summer days!

Carol just brought us a bag of Kettle Korn!

    Friday, October 21, 2011

    This day has possibilities!

Enjoyed a quiet morning, while dad went to exercise.  I made salads, cleaned corn on the cob, prepared tomatoes.

Then I drove up to Tilden Park in Berkeley and did a little barefoot hiking.  I am definitely a tender-foot, but I loved it!

Then I did a little barefooting over at Kennedy Park on Hesperian.

4:30pm  Dad and I took Luigi to the park across the street.  Bill and Sadie came by also.  Lots of fun.

    Beautiful, warm day.  Perfect!

    Thursday, October 20, 2011

You deserve success.  Why settle for less?

This morning, dad and I are meeting Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel in Fremont and having breakfast at Denny's.  Auntie Isabel is getting her eyes x-rayed and injections in her eye for her wet macular degeneration.  Her right eye, which is now blind, gives her so much pain.  I sure hope the doctors can help relieve her pain.  She never complains, but she is suffering so much, she is starting to talk about not wanting to live.  I know that kind of pain.  Sometimes, I think the doctors would rather save money, rather than help.

    Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Your dreams are ready when you are.

Nice relaxing day.  Dad went to exercise and then out to lunch and a drive with Bill.

I did laundry, had bacon and eggs, watched T.V. and relaxed, relaxed, relaxed.

6:00pm - LindaRae and Craig will not be here from Oregon, tomorrow.  Postponed until November 10th.  Was really looking forward to seeing them.

This was a nice, relaxing day.  Even Luigi was a good boy.

    Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Today will bring you a new reason to smile.

    Such a warm, beautiful day.

This morning I went to the movies, and saw, "Courageous".  Good movie.  I cried a bunch.  It turned out to be a Christian movie.

Then I walked/ran, barefoot, around Lake Elizabeth in Fremont.  I really, really enjoyed that.

6:00pm - There is a sudden change in the weather.  Turning cold, and dark quickly.  Pretty cool.

    Monday, October 17, 2011

There are angels among us.  You're one of them.

    No Jury Duty.

Dad and I had lunch in Pleasanton at Denny's Restaurant with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.

We took Luigi to the park across the street tonight.  Nice and Hot!

    Sunday, October 16, 2011

You've got what it takes to make dreams come true.

Called for jury duty tonight.  They do not need me in the morning.  I will call back at 11:00am to check for the afternoon.

    Saturday, October 15, 2011

Some of the most amazing journeys begin as detours!

Taking Luigi to PetSmart this morning to get groomed by Ethan.

Ethan did a great job.  Luigi looks adorable.

Dad and I went to the Pasta Feed at the clubhouse tonight.

    Fun day.

This afternoon, meeting Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel for lunch at Sizzler.  Yesterday, Uncle Joe went to the eye doctor at the Veterans in Livermore.  They say he has early stage of macular degeneration.  They are making him a stronger pair of glasses.

    Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Congratulate yourself. You're doing a great job!

So happy that I am going to the dentist this morning.  Having my teeth cleaned.  They give me the "Happy Gas!"  Oh yes - I LOVE IT!

This was such a warm and beautiful day.  Just the way I like it!  Ran around and did a lot of errands.  Also, took several walks.  One, alone, at Twin Bridges Park.  Later, at park across the street, with dad and Luigi.  Bought a new broom.  Cleaned all around the outside of the coach.  Picked up Luigi, and walked a couple blocks around our NEV park.  Finally, collapsed.  Perfect day!

    Tuesday, October 11, 2011

    You are 100 percent wonderful.

This morning, Clark's Pest Control comes to our house and Bill's house.

Yesterday, it rained all day and all night.  It was wonderful!

The sun came out this afternoon.  First, Luigi and I took a drive with dad driving.

Later, we ran across the street to the park, and Luigi and I ran barefoot, all over the whole park.  We had the whole park to ourselves.  Fantastic!!

    Monday, October 10, 2011

    Positive thinking gets results!

Physical therapy for dad at 10:00am.

Meeting Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at 12:00 noon for lunch, at Don Jose's Mexican Restaurant in Castro Valley.

    Sunday, October 9, 2011

    Your dreams are within reach.

This morning, dad and I went to the movies and saw "Moneyball" with Brad Pitt.  Good movie.

Then I went barefoot to FoodMaxx and bought lots of produce.  Followed by, going to the park, and I ran barefoot around the park at Twin Bridges.  I really enjoyed it.

Afterwards, dad and I took Luigi to the park across the street.  Again, I did some barefoot running.

We came home, and made pasta shells with Classico and a huge amount of garlic from Carol next door.  Delicious!

Great football today.  Both the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers won!  We tuned in just in time to watch golf - then went Six extra holes to win!  Very Fun!

Bill and Sadie came over with fresh tomatoes from the garden in Tracy.

And after, dad and I watched Huell Howser with Farmer Boys restaurant and Frosters Freeze, while we enjoyed strawberry shortcake.

    Nice, warm, beautiful day!

    Saturday, October 8, 2011

You are the answer to someone's prayers.

I had a great morning.  I had breakfast at the Taqueria at Southland.  My favorite place.  Then I went over to Twin Bridges and tried my new Picnic Blanket.  It is great.  I'm sure that I will use it alot.   I went barefoot and walked around the park a couple of times - and THEN I did some some "running".  I'm sure it looked pretty silly - but, it felt Great!  I loved it.

1:00pm - 4:00pm  - Dad and I went to Georgian Manor Mobile Home Park and listened to the live bands.

Everything was fine - until the moment we got home, my big toe started hurting.  I think I may have an ingrown toenail.  How can it be so happy one minute, and start hurting so much the next????  It is 9:30pm and it still hurts.  I went to the jacuzzi and then trimmed my nails.  Now, that I can see it closer, it does look a little ingrown.  If it still hurts in the morning, I'll run over to Walgreens and get something for it.

Oh yeah, Al Davis, Owner of the Oakland Raiders died today.  Age 82.  Back in the 60's and 70's we were "Season Ticket Holders".  Yep, we were even at the "Heidi" game.  Still big Raider fans.  Al Davis WAS the Raiders.  Will be interesting to see what happens, now that Al is gone.  Who could possibly have the passion that Al had?  Oh yeah - their FANS!  GO RAIDERS!!

    Friday, October 7, 2011

Why postpone your dreams when you can reach them today?

Today, I went to the movies and saw, "What's Your Number?" with Anna Faris.  Good movie.

Dad Luigi and I went to J.C. Penny's and then across the street to the park for about an hour.

Came home.  Had dinner.  Bill and Sadie came over and we all watched the St. Louis Cardinals vs. the Philadelphia Phillies play-off game 5.  Cardinals with manager Tony LaRussa won 1-0!  Yeaaaaa

    Great Day!

    Thursday, October 6, 2011

You have so much living to do!

    Today is October 6, 2011.

Happy Birthday Uncle Joe!  You are 89 years young!

Happy Birthday Luigi!  You are five years old!

Dad and I are meeting up with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel today to celebrate in Castro Valley at Don Jose's Mexican Restaurant - Uncle Joe's favorite restaurant!

Yesterday, Steve Jobs, ex-CEO of Apple died at the age of 56.  Somehow, his passing has deeply affected me.  Steve, you are going to be profoundly missed, on so many levels.  Rest in peace, Steve.    And - T H A N K  Y O U ! !

8:30am - Change of plans.  lol  (As usual).  Yumi is sick today and cancelled Auntie Isabel's hair appointment.  So, dad and I are going to Pleasanton and visit with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel, and then we'll all go out for lunch at Zorn's Restaurant in Pleasanton.  Oh, yes - and it's raining today!

    Wednesday, October 5, 2011

    Hope is never in vain!

Rainy day.  Henry is not going to exercise, so dad is not going to exercise.

The rain stopped, the sun came out - Bill and dad went to exercise class.

    Tuesday, October 4, 2011

You make the world a better place just by being you!

    Health Miracles at Your Fingertips.

    Turn Off Cravings!
Press above your upper lip.  The indentation between your nose and upper lip is the accupressure point for weight-related problems because pressing it quells food cravings.  Whenever you feel a craving calling your name, pinch this spot - called the "Renzhong point" - with your thumb and forefinger 30 times and your craving will disappear!

    Unstuff a Stuffy Nose!
    Press behind each nostril.
Pressing these two points for 2 minutes with your index fingers helps break up congestion, drain the sinuses and open your nasal passages.  Result:  less inflammation and swelling, so you breathe easier right away!  This effectively treats chronic sinus and nasal symptoms 99% of the time!

    Feel Less Tired!
Press alongisde the bridge of your nose.
Called "Jingming" in Chinese, the two spots along the bridge of the nose where the eyes and nose meet affect the head's ophthalmic nerve, making it the go-to point for anything eye-related.  These acupoints have been used successfully to treat night blindness, nearsightedness, blurriness, eye pain and the tiredness that goes along with eyestrain.  And because the eyes and brain are so closely linked, pressing these points for 15 seconds, twice a day, can help you refresh and energize!

    Positive Thinking Works Wonders!

This morning I went to the movies and saw, "50/50", with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.  Good movie.

Then, I went to the health food store and bought blackstrap molasses.

Dad, Bill, Sadie, Luigi and I went across the street and played at the park.

Came home and heated a DiGiorno pepperoni pizza and dad and I watched several episodes of Huell Howser's, California Gold.  That show is so terrific.

Pulled out my pendulum and checked when my freedom is coming.  It said November.  Of course, I put all of the wishful thinking into it.  lol

Have been listening in the car to the audio version of Susan Lucci's book,
"All My Life, A Memoir".  It is 21 hours.  Very enjoyable!

    Stay-Healthy Forever Tricks!

Outsmart arthritis with Brazil nuts!  Just one delivers all the selenium you need for the day!  Chemicals in selenium protect joint cartilage.

Banish pain when hiking and biking with blueberries.

Boost optimism with magnesium!  Snack on sunflower seeds!

Thwart lung cancer with potatoes and bananas.

Preserve your vision with vitamin C from bell peppers and leafy dark greens.

Stay on the go with greens!  Spinach, lettuce, cabbage and other leafy greens are packed with vitamin K, which reduces your risk of osteoarthritis.  It helps regulate the flow of calcium in and out of the bones, ensuring you don't lose too much.

    Sip green tea!

Ground flaxseeds contain natural estrogen-like plant compounds.

Bananas, pineapple, strawberries, apples, ginger, pumpkin, sweet potato or squash, pistachios, salsa, blackstrap molasses.

Four short bursts of high-intensity exercise daily, such as trotting up the stairs or tidying at top speed.

After dad's exercise class this morning, we went to J.C. Penney's and bought him a new electric blanket!

Later, I went to Michael's and bought some "leather lace" and a lobster claw clasp.  I'm going to attempt to make a pair of "barefoot, soleless, sandals".

You're ready to take the first step.

Dad and I had lunch in Pleasanton at Denny's Restaurant today with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  Later we took Luigi to play at the park across the street.  I'm feeling very restless again.  I have to stop this.   I must remain calm.

Do something that makes you happy, too!

I went to the movies, and saw, "Dolphin Tale", with Harry Connick, Jr.  Good movie!

Your star shines all the time!

Luigi and I are taking dad to his dentist appointment this morning.  Today is CoCo's 62nd birthday.  Happy Birthday CoCo!

I went to the movies and saw, "Kevin Hart, Laugh at My Pain".  I fixed us hot sausage and scrambled eggs, then we took Luigi across the street to run off all of his energy.

You have so much to offer.

Dad and I spent four hours in Pleasanton at Uncle Joe's and Auntie Isabel's today.  Never did have lunch.

    You're headed to someplace great!

Okay, where to start with Columbo Club last night.  Of course, the loud background noise always hurts my ears so much.  No one could hear anyone, and everyone kept saying, "What did he say?"  It turned out to be "Hawaiian Night".  Everyone was dressed Hawaiian, but us.  NO PASTA!  Risotta and chicken, and timusa (sp) like cake with lots of cream. Yuck! Great bread though!  I just kept singing, and cursing and talking to myself, since no one could hear me or see me.  Oh yes, did I mention the average age was 95!  At 86, my dad actually looked the unhealthiest last night.  Uncel Joe and Auntie Isabel danced quite a bit.  SO CUTE!!!!!!!  Dad and Uncle Joe saw lots of old friends - that they thought were already dead - hahaha -  They really enjoyed seeing everyone and that was great.   I always feel totally alone in a crowd.  Crowd's are not my thing.  I don't mind people-watching, but it is really a waste for me to be there.  I always feel trapped.

I ordered a "picnic blanket" online last night.  Went to the park yesterday, and layed on the grass and looked at the clouds.  Loved It!  Came home, and my allergies were all broke out everywhere that my body touched the grass!  I am just a barrel of fun.  Bad ears, allergies.  I always want a healthy body, but .... que sera.

Guess we'll hang out today and watch the 49ers this morning, and the Raiders this afternoon.  I'll make us hot sausage sandwiches.  Smile!

    You are a great person!

At 4:00pm, Tommy is going to drive Uncle Joe, Auntie Isabel, dad and I, to Columbo Club for a pasta feed.  Haven't been to Columbo Club in almost twenty years!

There's room in your heart for more love. Let it in!

Today is the last day that my soap opera for 41 years will air on T.V.  "All My Children".  It has been my safe space.  I tape it every day, and at the end of the day, I spend in Pine Valley.  Good bye, dear, familiar, friend.

Nice, warm day today.  Dad and I spend a few hours watching Huell Howser shows.  Barstow, the Hornet ship in Alameda, Water, etc.  Then we drove to Del Taco in Newark.  We took dad's car.  As he was backing out of the driveway, Norm was in his golf cart delivering rent notices to the mailing tubes.  Henry, across the street - and I, both yelled at Norm, "MOVE"!  Sure enough, dad never did see Norm.  Scared poor Norm who said, "If he can't see me, he shouldn't be driving!"  True enough.  I talked to dad about it.  He promises to look more carefully next time.  lol  I keep noticing that dad has more and more "little problems".  Aging is no fun.  But, overall, I think he is doing pretty well.   One day at a time.

At 6:30pm we took Luigi across the street to throw the frisbee and tire him out.  Bill and Sadie came a little later, as well as some other gals and their dogs.  We really had a great time.  Such an awesome summer evening.  Today is the first day of fall.

Then, I went to the jacuzzi and swimming pool for two hours.  This has been one of those amazing, peaceful days.

Life Never Runs Out of Goodness

Dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at CoCo's Restaurant today.
Yumi, her hair dresser, called her at 8:00am this morning and they went in at 9:00am.  BUT, they did not call us and tell us about the change.  I thought we were not meeting until 12:30pm so I did a few errands and also returned some tops to KMart - I keep ordering XL, but I wear XL Petite - small shoulders, short arms.  It's a tough size to find.

Poor dad is not feeling well at all today.  His tummy hurts, and this morning he couldn't breathe and had to run outside.  He's still not feeling too well, but, so far, he says it's just a bad day, and won't let me call the doctor.

Guess what else happened today.  In December 2005, I bought a Lifetime Subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio.  That's the lifetime of just the radio - not the service.  Today, I lost the signal.  After an hour of hassel and disconnects on the phone - (my radio is hard-wired in my car) - they told me I had to go pay for service and have them disconnect the hard wire and satellite antenna - just to CHECK it.  I'm too upset to think right now, so I'm not going to do anything.  I'll just turn my regular radio back on and listen to my CD's in the car.

Aside from all this - I, myself, am feeling pretty good today.  So, que sera!  Smile!

Dad, Bill, Sadie, Luigi and I, went to the park across the street and played tonight.

Then I went and enjoyed the jacuzzi and the swimming pool.  Perfect evening!

Someone in your life gives thanks for you.

Today I went and saw the movie, "I Don't Know How She Does It", with Sarah Jessica Parker.  Cute movie.

Another one of my books sold on Amazon.  Just had a nice, pleasant, mellow day.  I loved it.

    Today is filled with possibilities.

This morning dad, Luigi and I cruised over to Castro Valley to see if we could scout any restaurants we haven't tried yet with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  We did find a couple, so we felt pretty successful.  Kind of a hot day, so we came home and have been enjoying the air conditioner.  Watched lots of shows we had taped - no commercials!  yeaa.  First we ate chimichangas with some good hot sauce that Bill brought us last night.  Later we had popcorn.  Later we had BLT sandwiches

Really Great News!  First Carol, then Bob Gulden called us - they have already Fixed the Swimming Pool!  This is definitely a great day!

Fall Asleep Faster With a Banana!

An hour before you go to bed, eat a banana.  It's supply of carbs will speed your body's release of sleep-inducing tryptophan.

Nice day.  Clark's Pest Control came by at my request and sprayed again for cob webs.  Then I went shopping and listened to Howard Stern interview Tony Bennett.  Great interview.  Tony is so full of LIFE!  Love Him!

Dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Wendy's in Castro Valley.  Two hours of lots of fun and laughter.

Nice, hot day.  Loving it!  Got my notice for Jury Duty for October 17th.  GUILTY!  hahahahaaa  (Wonder why I never get placed on a jury.)  lol
