Moved Again to Wordpress at www.blueheavenliving.com

Come find me - I am going in circles.  Somehow figured out how to get back into blogger.

HOPEFULLY, this is the real move.
You are a beautiful person.

Picture of dad Wednesday out to his monthly lunch with his exercise class at the Hometown Buffet at Southland.  Always has that beautiful smile.  Auntie Isabel was supposed to have eye surgery and have her cornea scraped, but after an hour and a half, and a room full of other patients waiting for eye surgeries, everyone was sent home because the sterilizing machine had broken.  Dad and I went to Castro Valley and visited with Rose Lopes and Joan Benson at the senior home.  Poor Rose fell again and fractured her left arm in two places.  Getting old is making me very nervous.  Rose is in her early 90's.  I took a five hour nap!  Feeling a little out of sorts.  Sometimes a change in weather that does to me.  I'm definitely a Sunshine Girl!

One more try may be all it takes!

One more try may be all it takes!

Hmmm....  Looks like I may be at Blogger for a while longer.  I am a little lost here.  Also, I thought underlining and coloring the title at Wordpress was harder than blogger, but look!  It does the same thing here on blogger.  I never posted up in the title bar before.  Maybe this was why way back in the beginning.  Yet, I see other blogs with titles that have underlines and colors.  The only solution I have found so far is using another browser (Foxfire?), but I am using Internet Explorer.  Should I take the time and add my titles here in blogger so at least they can transfer with me and I don't have to keep re-doing them??  No matter which way I go, I am in for a lot of extra steps.  But, if I just stay Patient!!!!!  That word keeps interferring!!!!  lol

So, last night Bill Mack said Comcast is coming today to give them a second DVR and they are getting an "Any Room DVR" setup where you can record on one DVR and watch in any room.  Comcast didn't have that yet when we got our two DVR's so we called Comcast and arranged for them to come to the house to hook it up Friday.  But dad wants to hang out today and see if we can snatch Bill's Comcast guy, to come next door and do ours after his.  Guess it's worth a try!

We have cancelled our Comcast appointment.  The Comcast guy at Bill's house told dad that the "Any Room DVR" setup would not work for us because my tv is not an HD tv.  This is probably for the best, because I can definitely predict that dad would have driven me crazy with this.  Either not EVER knowing how to use it - or - deleting things that "I" have set to be recorded.  Anybody Relate????  lol
I'll be honest - I am pretty scared that I am going to get this weird when I am 87.  The body breaks down.  The mind breaks down.  I would like to be the exception to that rule!  Yea!!

You're better than good. You're great!

You're better than good. You're great!

Last night I ordered the Hypnosis ebook from Roger Moore, Becoming Slender for Life.  Really need a little extra help in releasing this weight.
I am Ready NOW!

Went to the movies and saw The Life of Pi.

You deserve good things!

You deserve good things!

Dad and I drove the back road to Livermore this morning.  Such a nice drive on a beautiful day.  Had a great two-hour (as usual) lunch at Shari's Restaurant with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  Tonight Bill Mack brought us over a bunch of goodies (as usual).  Tonight he brought Carol's home made pasta, ripe bananas and roasted chicken - which we have been making chicken and chow chow sandwiches with.  Honestly, every single day this fall season has been about as perfect as it gets.  We are so blessed.  I always want to remember these amazingly beautiful, wonderful, serene, happy, healthy days.  And Treasure Them.

See your own beauty.

See your own beauty.

Dad and I are going to the movies this morning and see "Lincoln" with Daniel Day Lewis and Sally Field.  Both the Raiders and the 49ers are playing today.  Luigi is snuggling with me.  This already feels like a perfect day.

Today is a new starting point. Begin!

Today is a new starting point. Begin!

Busy Saturday!  Bought a Phillips Sonicare Series 4 Healthy White Electric Toothbrush at Walmart.  Has Clean and White Mode.  Whitens teeth 2 shades in only 2 weeks.  Removes up to 2x more plaque.  2 modes to help maintain whitening treatments longer.  I know that it is silly getting excited over an electric toothbrush, but my gums are still sore from my last deep cleaning Tuesday, and anything that will help, makes me Ecstatically Happy!

Dad, Luigi and I took a ride to Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton and went to the Office Max Store and bought a new printer.  It is another Brother Printer.  On sale from $100 to $49.  Model MFC-J430W.  Prints color, scans, copies and faxes.  All-in-one.  I like to stay with the same basic printer and I have lots of ink cartridges that will work with this new printer.

We took Luigi to the Drigon Dog Park on Mission Blvd.  He ran and ran and found a ball to play with.  Lots of fun.  Came home and made more chow chow and had sandwiches and then set my printer up and started charging my new toothbrush.  I'll take my old printer over to Salvation Army.  Beautiful, perfect sunny day.

You're moving forward.

You're moving forward.

I do believe today is the day I am going to sign up for WordPress and start my new LifeLong Blog.  BlueHost looks like it has a lot of tutorials that work with WordPress.  So far, I am still leaning towards using BlueheavenLiving as my LifeLong Blog Title.  Seems it would work well for the next fifty years (lol) and go along with me with any directions that I may take in my Lifetime.  I just find that I enjoy writing my little blog.  I Love to Start New Projects.  Bluehost is offering a Black Friday Special today at $3.95 a month to host.  I would have to sign up for 36 months and scrape together every last dime that I currently have - but, what the heck!  It will definitely keep me busy and out of trouble for a while.  Went to the jacuzzi again last night.  Aaaahhhh  I Do Love Being Spoiled.

Yea!  I purchased my new domain name BlueheavenLiving on Bluehost.  It is being installed right now.  Think this will take awhile.  My printer has errors, but I don't want to fool with it until I get this blogging thing installed.  One step at a time.  Then I am going to see if I can transfer all of my blogging from here AroundHayward to my new WordPress blog BlueheavenLiving.

I already don't know how to logon to my new Wordpress.org.  Okay, the challenges begin!  Just spent over an hour and going in circles.  Nothing ever comes easy.  Too sleepy.  Tomorrow is another day.

You are a special person.

You are a special person.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!

Did I mention that they moved out the coach across the street Tuesday.  Also, yesterday, Yumi, Auntie Isabel's hairdresser, who has changed locations and is working three days a week in Castro Valley, said that they Do Take Visa at the new location.  She is a bit expensive, but I really liked the way she did my hair that one time, and I am Really Unhappy with how my hair is right now.  So, in a few weeks I will make an appointment and go over to the new location and have Yumi do my hair.

Today, dad and I,  are having Thanksgiving Dinner with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel and Tommy.  What they do not know is that Bill, Carol, Carol's dad Jim, Doris, Corky, Ellen, and I think a couple more people, have invited Themselves to join us.  We haven't mentioned it because it turns into a problem.  We're hoping to keep it simple.  I'm just going to make sure that the five of us get seated together and since we tend to always hang out at restaurants and talk for a good two hours, I'm hoping everyone else eats and goes.  Cross fingers this stays simple.

Everything turned out perfectly.  Though about 11:00am dads back went completely OUT.  Then we gave him a Norco pain pill and FIVE straight shots of Canadian Club Whiskey in 30 minutes.  WOW!  Did he feel Better!  You should see cousin Tommy.  He has lost 37 pounds.  Here I talk about it constantly and his doctor said "Eat smaller portions" - AND HE DID!  hahaha  I am so proud of him.  He looks so much Healthier!

CURE BRONCHITIS QUICKLY! & ALZHEIMER'S

CURE BRONCHITIS QUICKLY! & ALZHEIMER'S

1.  Take Ivy Leaf to Clear Congestion.
Ivy Leaf is as effective as prescription ambroxol at clearing congestion-causing phlegm from the lungs, thanks to its natural expectorants, which thin mucus and trigger a productive cough.  Take 50 mg., three to four times daily.  Findy Ivy Leaf in drugstores.

2.  Loosen phlegm with NAC
Regularly taking N-acetylcysteine (NAC) can also help reduce the thickness of phlegm, relieving a persistent cough.  Take 500 mg., twice daily, for either acute or chronic bronchitis.  NAC is available in most drugstores.

3.  Turn on a Humidifier to breathe easier.
Warm moist air helps loosen mucus in your bronchial tubes, making it easier to cough up.  Just be sure to clean the humidifier according to the product manual to avoid germ growth in the water container.

4.  Try a proven herbal germ fighter - Pelargonium
Pelargonium can relieve chest pain, fever and congestion for up to 97% of bronchitis sufferers within one week.  The herb works by speeding up the motion of cilia, tiny hair-like structures in the nose and airways that capture and eject invading germs.  Take 30 drops three times daily for seven days.  (Umcka ColdCare by Nature's Way is the most widely available pelargonium supplement; find it in Walgreens and other drugstores.)

PREVENT COLDS - AND ALZHEIMER'S!

1,000 mg of Vitamin C Daily.

Repeat positive mantra to relieve stress - such as "I Can Handle Anything" - several times daily.

Prevent plaque buildup with tumeric.
Eating 1/4 tsp. daily of this golden-hued Indian spice can help prevent - and even reverse - Alzheimer's disease says Ann Kulze, M.D. author of Dr. Ann's 10-Step Diet.  Turmeric's active ingredient - curcumin - energizes immune cells, helping them quickly clear away 30% of damaging plaque deposits in the brain.

Auntie Isabel is getting her hair done in Hayward today, because tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  We are all going to try "Bake N Bite" the restaurant that replaced Dino's over on Industrial  Not sure what it is like.  Always fun to try new restaurants.  Oh Uh  Just looked them up on Yelp.  This is a Filipino restaurant with not a very good review.  No way will Uncle Joe eat here.  He is the most finicky eater.  Plain hot dogs, plain hamburgers, plain chili, cheese enchilada - that's about it.  Think we had better find another place to eat for lunch today.  Went to Denny's and had so much fun.  This was really a fun day.

4:30am  Just turned on the TV to HSN and ordered the personal Hunter Ultrasonic Personal Humidifier.  I tend to get bronchitis in the winter.  Fingers crossed, this will help me avoid it this year.

Your heart knows what's best for you. Follow it.

Your heart knows what's best for you. Follow it.

This morning I am going to the Dr. Wick's office for my teeth cleaning.  I love going here.  They give me "Happy Gas" and a radio headset with music and I take a nice happy little "trip".  Hee Hee  Very Happy.  Well, looks like I am now back on the four-month cleaning schedule.  The six-month schedule is not working.  I know that Uncle Joe and dad have the same problem - just too much tartar build-up.  Must be a genetic thing.  Well, looking on the bright side - I get the "Happy Gas" three times a year rather than two!  Been trying to think of a Title to start my blog on WordPress.  I am currently considering "BlueheavenLiving".  Honestly, thinking of a title is ten thousand times harder than just writing a blog.  I want something short and simple, but nothing really has come to me so far.  Blueheaven was my first username when I first started using a computer (actually WebTV) years ago, and somehow that just stays with me.  It seems silly, but I just cannot think of anything else that has resonated with me.  I sort of want a title that can follow for Forever.  Obviously, my current blogger title "AroundHayward" was just meant for now - although it is certainly lasting a lot longer than I ever anticipated.  But, I have read that these blogger posts can be deleted by Google at any time.  I have put Ancestry info in here and pictures that I was hoping to keep.  So, really would like to switch to Wordpress.

Passion and positivity make the impossible possible!

Passion and positivity make the impossible possible!

Dad and I are going to Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel's apartment and then out for lunch at Jack-in-the-Box.  Ugh.  Just weighed myself.  200 pounds.  Sheesh.  Jumped on the rebounder tonight.  I liked it better when I never had to think about weight.  I actually "feel" heavy these days.  So, it makes it more interesting to become lighter again.  Aaahhh.  Yes!  I would like that very much.

Take a break. You owe it to yourself!

Take a break. You owe it to yourself!

Dad and I are going to the movies this morning and seeing "Flight" with Denzel Washington.  This afternoon the Oakland Raiders are playing.  Go Raiders!  I've been enjoying my Millet Hull Pillow.  It's actually kind of huge and heavy, but I really love sleeping on it.  Lots of amazing support in a very comforting way.  Not very portable though.  But, it is one amazing pillow.  Need to try and figure out how to use my Millet Hull Body Pillow on the bed.  Patience.  It takes patience.  You would think I would be full of patience with my easy lifestyle and yet...........  hehe  Patience.  I am constantly teetering on extreme enjoyment of this simple lifestyle and total impatience of my non lifestyle.  Maybe that's just how life is.  Appreciating what I have now - and that is a LOT - and impatient to go off and actually do Something.  Primarily, I am Loving being Healthy.  That is something I need to constantly work on to continue being healthy.  This extra weight is a time bomb and I need to start taking it seriously and get to a healthy weight.  Look - Chocolate!  hahahahahahahahahahaaaa

You are some to be admired.

You are some to be admired.

Simple Saturday.  Dad and I went shopping at Walmart this morning.  Lots of fun rain this morning.  Made bacon and eggs for breakfast and Ghiradelli's Chocolate Brownies with Caramel this afternoon.  Watched lots of Judge Judy and Judge Milian.  Jumped on my Rebounder.  Yea, still reading a lot about RVing on my computer.  Wonder if I will enjoy it as much doing it as I do reading about it.  Maybe I only want to go for a weekend.  haha The laugh would be on me.  But dreaming is fun.  Gotta dream about something, right!

Possibilities always outnumber problems.

Possibilities always outnumber problems.

Ran around and did a little bit of everything today.  Firestone, Chinese food, post office, Fry's Electronics, Burger King and just general running around.   Finally, it started to rain - YEA! - and came on home.  Enjoying being cozy.

You are genuinely fabulous!

This morning dad and I are meeting Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Country Waffles in Dublin.  Then after breakfast, the four of us will go across the street to the Dollar Tree Store.  Dublin has an Amazing Dollar Store.  Funny how they put the Best Products in the areas where people who already have money get the Best Deals.  Crazy but True.

Hope is like a best friend: always there to life you up.

Another amazing gorgeous fall day.  Fall is my favorite season.  Dad drove his own car to exercise this morning so that Bill could go to his monthly Sirs luncheon afterwards and dad could drive to the clubhouse dining table.  I finally used my new Vitamix and made a banana smoothie.  Should have put ice in mine.  Of course I dumped the smoothie down the drain.  Too lazy to add ice.  haha  Think I prefer to just eat the bananas!  Went to Jim's Salon and had my hair cut and colored.  They made it darker than I wanted.  I liked how they had it with more blonde.  I told him I liked it lighter, but.... Well, next time I will speak up and use the word Blonde.  I may even go back sooner like 4 to 6 weeks.  I was so happy with it, I had let it grow out quite a bit.  Also, had a pedicure at the nail salon next door.  I like going there because they don't torture my ticklish feet.  tee hee.  Went to Tacos Uruapan across the street from home and had their Carne Asada Fries.  Okay, not great, but definitely fun to try.  Did a lot of running around and also went barefoot walking over at the Twin Bridges Park.  I love doing that.  Just a perfect, wonderful fall day.

You make a difference in someone's life every day!

Lots of running around this beautiful morning.  This afternoon took dad to Dr. Rhee, the workers comp doctor for his back to get all of his prescriptions renewed.  Then we had lunch at McDonalds.  Nice day.  This morning I finally took a complete "sponge" bath with just wash cloths and no shower.  Not so bad.  Not sure if this is something I want to strive for on a regular basis.  Just curious to try it.  Will be interesting if this was a one-time thing or a longer experiment.  Always thinking about a more minimalist life.  Then again, why not just enjoy the good life why I currently have it!  Just trying to amuse myself I guess.  It's always more fun when you know you have the choice.

Draw people in with a smile!

Guys are still prepping six coaches in park to be removed, including the one across the street from us.  Texas Road House had free lunch today between
11-2pm.  Dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  We chatted with a family outside while waiting for our table.  Jim, son Patrick, and Ann.  They finally called our name - and at the same time this family of three had requested a table for seven and insisted we sit with them.  I don't think dad or Auntie Isabel were too happy.  Ann sat across from me was quite the talker.  She insisted on exchanging numbers at the end of the lunch.  Somehow, I think the family blames me, but I was innocent.  It all happened too quickly.  Nice family, but dad was stuck on the end and couldn't move or use his arm or cut his meat and he just got so miserable.  (Glad I wasn't sitting next to him, lol).  Hey, but the food was Delicious!  I kind of had a good time because this gal was pretty nice to me.  It was nice to be around happy people.  But, it does get a little bit tiring.  So it was great and semi-great, kinda.  Not easy to keep everybody happy.  It was great for me to have some real conversation.  That is pretty rare in my life these days.  I pretty much hear the same three sentences repeated over and over again.  Oh, and I jumped on my Rebounder for a good half hour this morning.  I really do like this rebounder.  Need to buy some more persimmons and learn how to ripen them.  And pomengranates.  Lots to learn.  Lots of Fun!

You're worth it!

This morning dad and I are going to the movies and seeing "Skyfall" the new James Bond movie with Daniel Craig.  I am excited because have decided to go to the XD movie!  Yea!  High Tech!  A Special Treat because we deserve it.  haha  I don't know why - it just makes me giddy thinking we are doing something a little bit Special!  Today both the Raiders and 49ers are playing.  Recording the Raider game this morning.  Okay Raiders Lost and 49ers Tied.  XD cost $28.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And was a pretty boring movie.  Still had a good day.  Happy to be tucked away into my little room with peace, quiet and my little Luigi.  Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.

You deserve to be happy.

Another Happy Day!  Left around 9:00am.   Went to the Bay Fair Farmers Market and PetSmart.  Went to the movies and saw a little comedy called "Fun Size".  Did some running around.  Enjoyed listening to Howard Stern.  Nice relaxing, fun, day.  Fed Luigi Day 2 of his raw chicken thigh from Lucky's.  A little reluctant at first - then Finished the whole thigh.  Including the bones, which when raw are supposed to be good for him and good for cleaning his teeth.  Finished reading "Dr. Greg's Dog Dish Diet" Second Edition - Sensible Nutrition for Your Dog's Health by Greg Martinez, DVM.  He is a Veterinarian from Gilroy, California.  He talks about feeding dogs raw or frozen chicken wings, chicken thighs, smoked pork bones or beef knucklebones, and they'll gnaw the tartar away.  Also, egg yolks a couple times a week; add oils such as fish-oil capsules like omega oils, flaxseed oil or canola oil or olive oil.  Or healthy meat or fish.  Green beans, deli turkey, zucchini casserole, frozen chicken thighs, egg yolk, carrot, salmon, shrimp, sardines, apples, bananas, cherries, peaches, carrots, tomatoes.  He prefers human-grade food.  He does recommend for dog food, Halo's Spot's Stew in dry or canned.  He seems to prefer canned to dry.  I went and bought both the canned and dry at Petco.  I watched one of his video's today on my cell phone - how cool is that!  He said PLEASE - Do Not Feed Your Dog Treats Made in China.  I have been feeding Luigi Duck Jerky Treats Made in China.  Luigi loves it.  So far, he has not been getting sick from it.  I think the Chicken Jerky is the one that has been causing so much trouble - So Far.  I am Super Happy about feeding Luigi some raw food again.  It does make me a little bit nervous, but I really believe it is most likely a very good thing for him.  Don't think I am going to go 100% raw right now.  Think I'll mix it up a bit with canned and dry dog food, and whatever else.  Just want him to be Healthy and Happy!

Your life is a canvas. Paint with brilliant colors!

Wonderful day.  Got up and left the house at 7:00am and went shopping.  Bought Luigi frozen chicken thighs and Organic Flaxseed Oil.  Fed him chicken thigh tonight.  Went to the movies and saw the 3D "Wreck-it-Ralph".  Came rushing home to see them move the coach out from across the street - But - they left again and have not moved the coach.  Sure hope we are home to watch when they finally do move the coach.  They are actually prepping six coaches to be moved right now.  Made double-pepperoni topping pizza by Tombstone for dinner.  Pretty fun.  Had such a nice day.  Just got out and about all day.  I love it!

One person can make a difference. You do, every day!

So nice and cool last night.  Made for good sleeping.  Cleaning ladies are coming this morning.  Have to get up early and get going.  Called for jury duty.  Not needed this morning.  Will call back at 11:00am to see if needed at 1:00pm today.  No Jury Duty for me this year.  So dad and I had a great morning down at the dining table at the clubhouse.  Eddie brought a delicious white cake with raspberry filling and we all celebrated Frank Mendes's 85th birthday.  Had lots of fun.  This afternoon we had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Country Waffles here on Whipple Ave.  While we were eating we had a nice quick rain shower that cleared the air.  Nice and cold, so when we got home I ran over and jumped in the jacuzzi for half an hour.  Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Be a good friend to yourself, too!

Luigi and I jumped up nice and early this morning.  Took a shower and did two loads of laundry.  Dad and Bill Mack went to exercise class and have coffee at the clubhouse dining table.  I felt a little tired and overwhelmed with all of the reading and things that I want to do, so I "resigned" from my current games on "Words with Friends".  Decided I could just start with new players as my energy returns.  Pretty Cool!  The neutralizer spray that I am using for the out-gassing of my Rebounder is still helping, but I have to use it quite frequently for now.  It is noon and I am ready for my nap.  lol

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Great things happen all the time!

Barack Obama has been re-elected over Mitt Romney.  Today was a beautiful, sunshine day.  Dad rode his motorized scooter to the clubhouse and voted and enjoyed an hour at the coffee table at the clubhouse.  Then Jeff came over and lowered the bar in the bathroom so that dad can again reach his sweatshirts.  I did lots of running around.  Returned my defective Furby to Walmart.  Bought new dog food called Halo from Petco for Luigi.  He gobbled it up tonight.  It is supposed to be very healthy for him.  Lots of spraying of neutralizer as there is a lot of out-gassing on the new Rebounder.  Very Happy.  Beautiful Day.

Your good qualities are undeniable and un-countable!

After a nice Long nap last night, I have been Wide Awake since 10:00pm - it is now 2:00am - and I have been so productive and having such a good time.   Dad and I had a nice lunch today in Castro Valley at Normans Restaurant with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  Lots of sunshine.   I'm concerned about Luigi.  When we got home, he had pooped twice and peed on our rugs.  Not good.  He still is not really eating.  He to be acting a little bit better, but obviously, not really himself.  Should I take him to the veterinarian?  Just not sure.  Today my rebounder arrived.  Bill Mack helped me put it together.  I played on it for a half an hour.  It's kinda big.  No really good place to put it.  We'll have to figure this out.  Jeff came over.  Tomorrow he is going to lower the bar in dad's bathroom where dad hangs all of his sweatshirts.  Besides having already shrunk 8" - down from 5'11" to 5'3" - he just cannot raise his arms.  So tomorrow, Jeff is going to lower the bar about one foot.  Also, tomorrow is election day.  Need to go vote!

Challenges make you more confident than before.

Luigi had a really rough night.  Kept jumping up and down and all around.  Couldn't settle down.  Believe it is his anal glands again.  Went online and ordered a book about dog diet.  And watched videos on expressing the anal glands.  I expressed his anal glands myself twice today for Luigi.  We also took him to the dog park.  He hasn't eaten and has thrown up several times.   He seems to be doing a little better tonight, but he is still a bit moosh.  Last night we turned the clocks back an hour for daylight savings time.  All day, I just cannot get energy myself.  Very busy day, but kind of dragging all day trying to do everything.  Hope tomorrow we wake up with all kinds of energy!

A dream is the best destination there is!

Beautiful sunny day.  Ran around all day.  Went to PetSmart and the Bayfair Farmers Market.  Bought persimmons and pomegranates for the first time.  The samples were delicious.  Had lunch at Panda Express at Bayfair.  Played Words with Friends.  Poor Luigi threw up this morning and has been a little under the weather all day.  Won't eat and still smells like throw-up.  I keep spraying his mouth with some doggy Mint Mouthwash.  Not really helping.  Hope he feels better tomorrow.  Pretty excited.  I think my rebounder should be arriving from UPS.  It is 6:30pm and they usually come around 7:30pm.  Hope they don't make me wait until Monday.  lol  Did receive my new 5-hour Kathy Griffin DVD today.  Can't wait to watch it.  Bummer.  9:00pm No UPS.  No rebounder today.  Patience!  I just Googled UPS.  They primarily deliver only Monday through Friday.  Should have looked that up about 24 hours ago.  lol  Well, the anticpation was lots of fun.  Really.  So Monday it is.  Yea!

Build bonds with a kind gesture.

Yesterday was cousin Tommy's 59th birthday.  Today, dad, Uncle Joe, Auntie Isabel and I are going to the Red Lobster in Fremont with Tommy to celebrate his birthday.  We had such a nice day at Red Lobster.  Tommy was really fun to be with and had a Great Birthday.  Perfect Day.

Your future is amazing!

Dad and I are going over to Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel's apartment again today.  The Veterans are replacing Uncle Joe's large mobility scooter with a smaller scooter.  Funny, people who REALLY need these cannot afford them.  But people like dad and Uncle Joe - both of which pretty much Never use theirs - well, they can't seem to Give them enough.  Guess that's just the way of the world.  They both have used them a couple of times, but neither has a serious need or even desire for these scooters.  Though dad sure has used the lift when needed and we are very blessed for having it.  So, today we do not know what time the scooter is being delivered and we will go over there and play it by ear.  They are still working on the coach across the street, preparing it to be moved out.  Think I'm going to get a new Furby.  The one I had hears ago stopped working pretty quickly, but it was still kinda Fun!

You don't have to be perfect to be amazing.

What a wonderful Halloween Wednesday.  Dad and Bill Mack went to exercise and exercise lunch for the last Wednesday of the month, at Straw Hat Pizza on Industrial Blvd.  I had a wonderful day and did not have to leave the house for one moment.   aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh  Relaxing.  What a contrast.  All of the devastation back East with Hurricane Sandy - and we had the best day with the San Francisco Giants winning the World Series, we had a BIG parade with about one million people celebrating today.  Feeling so blessed for this moment.  Feel a little bit guilty, but really, either way, it just is what it is.  Otherwise, a perfect day, and after all the neighborhood kids - not our neighborhood - we live in an adult park - the rains will come and cleanse the air.  I have a small sore throat.  Probably the change in weather.  Now time for a nice, little rest.

Every morning brings a gift: a brand-new day!

Went to the movies today and saw "Chasing Mavericks" with Gerard Butler and Jonny Weston.  Such a wonderful, sunny day.  Then went and had a Hawaiian Shaved Ice from Coldstone.  They are dismantling the coach across the street.  They are going to pull the old one out and put in a new one.  I'm thinking they are probably going to make it into a rental.  grrrrrrr   Otherwise today was a lot of fun.  And I played LOTS of Words with Friends.  Bought some more bananas.  Trying to eat more bananas.  Gee.  I'm so excited.  HSN has shipped by Urban Rebounder!  I am watching the one-hour video on HSN.com again for the Urban Rebounder.  They are saying you should have a waistline of 30" inches.  So, I measured by waist.  43" inches!  Oops!  I was never more than 108 pounds until I was 40 years old.  Would love to feel a nice healthy, smaller body again.  Hope this is the year.

You light up someone's world.

Congratulations to our beautiful niece, Tacy - Brendon's amazing wife.
She has been promoted to Sergeant in the U.S. Army!
Brains, Beauty and Ability!  This is an Exciting Day!

Dad and I are going to Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel's apartment and then all go and have lunch at Jack-in-the-Box.

Every step forward counts.

This morning, dad and I went to the movies and saw "Argo" with Ben Affleck.  Made spaghetti for dinner with the delicious spaghetti gravy and garlic that Carol Mack sent over for us.  Great sports day.  Oakland Raiders won their game over the Kansas City Chiefs.  Today the PBR Bullriding had their final event in Las Vegas.  Today was the last day that Chris Shivers will ever ride bulls.  Loved years of watching him.  Greatest bull rider.  Right now watching the fourth game of the World Series.  Just went into extra innings.  Enjoying playing Words with Friends.  Yea!  San Francisco Giants just won a four-game Sweek against the Detroit Tigers in Detroit winning 4 to 3!  I can hear the fireworks going on.

You are absolutely meant to live a wonderful life!

Dad and I went shopping at Walmart this morning and then went to Windsor Acute Rehab and visited our next door neighbor, Alma.  She broke her hip six weeks ago.  Hopefully, she will be coming home soon. This afternoon, I did a little running around and cleared my head.  It's a little difficult as dad can be a bit controlling and trying.  A little fresh air and nice sunshine were very welcome.  Tonight is Game 3 for the World Series.  The San Francisco Giants are playing in Detroit tonight.

Friday, October 26, 2012

You are already perfect!

Went online and ordered the Urban Rebounder from HSN.  Who knows, by eating more fruit and playing on the rebounder, this just may be the year I get healthier and also drop some of this weight.  Definitely looking forward to a Healthy New Year!  LindaRae left this morning to go on to southern California to visit her girlfriend.  My Millet Hull Pillow and Body Pillow arrived today.  Curious to see how I like it.  Went to the movies and saw, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" with Emma Watson.  Still enjoying playing "Words With Friends" on my cell phone.  It's Scrabble and I am really enjoying it.  Also got new windshield wipers today at O'Reilly's.  They were so nice and even put them on for me.  Beautiful sunny day.  Luigi is cuddling with me.  I love that.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

You are someone to cherish.

This afternoon, dad, LindaRae and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Baldi's Restaurant in Union City.  Tonight we had spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner.  Watched the Giants win Game 2 of the World Series over the Detroit Tigers.  Fun, Full Day.

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Thank goodness for you!

This morning dad and Bill went to exercise.  LindaRae and I went to breakfast at IHOP.  Jeff the Plumber came by and fix our kitchen faucet that has been dripping for months - Yea!  LindaRae and I went to Massage Envy at Union Landing and enjoyed marvelous massages.  We brought home chinese food for dinner from Panda Express.  Tried to go to the jacuzzi - but, Naturally - it is not working.  Watched the San Francisco Giants win their first game of the World Series.  Bill and Sadie came over and watched the first half with us.  Feeling nice and relaxed from our massages.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Have some fun!

San Francisco Giants are in the World Series!  They won St. Louis Cardinals 9-0!
World Series starts Wednesday night in San Francisco.  Very Exciting!  LindaRae has come for a great visit.  We are all going to Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel's house today and then on to lunch at Dennys in Pleasanton.  Received an email from Walmart that they do not have a rebounder and they are refunding the card.  Drat.  Now I have to decide what I want to do from here.  I'm sure it will work out for the best.  Not quite sure what I have decided yet.

Dream it. Plan it. Live it!

Took dad to Podiatrist at Kaiser.  Clipped a little bit of nail from toe.  Toe feels much better.  Grabbed a sandwich at Jack-in-the-Box.  Then over to the Dollar Store.  Nice heavy rain this morning - beautiful sun this afternoon.  Tonight is  Game 7 for the San Francisco Giants.  Also, tonight is the third and Final Debate for Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

Positive thinking works - and it's free!

Nice, easy Sunday.  Dad and I watched Part 1 of 8 Miniseries from the History Channel, "The Men Who Built America" - about Vanderbilt, Rockerfeller, Carnegie.  Great Series.  Caught up with all of our taped t.v. shows.  Oakland Raiders Won!  San Francisco Giants in Game 6 of Playoffs, Second Inning Winning 5 - 0.  Great Sports Day!  And, of course, played Fetch with Luigi All Day Long!  Happy Puppy!

Saturday, October 20, 2012

You're a star.

Dad and I are going to the boutique at the clubhouse this morning and have a hot dog.  Pretty exciting, huh!

Friday, October 19, 2012

Believe, and you'll succeed!

Wonderful day today.  Went to the movies and saw, "Here Comes the Boom", a comedy with Kevin James.  Relaxed and played Words with Friends.  Enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Nice, calm, easy going, day.

Dream. Create. Achieve!

Dad and I had lunch today with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Wendy's in Castro Valley.  Then we took dad to Physical Therapy at Kaiser.  A few days ago he went to reach for something and pulled a muscle which disturbed a nerve and has been hurting pretty good ever since.  He is feeling so much better now.  Although, I did see him icing his neck/shoulder tonight, so this may take a little time.  They also gave him some exercises to help.  My computer has been acting slow and frustrating, so may call Comcast tonight and see if they can hellp.

You can create your future today.

Since Bill Mack has gone golfing for three days with the guys and dad is not going to exercise this morning, dad and I are going to the movies and see, "Taken 2" with Liam Neesam.    Supposed to be getting even warmer today.  One of my favorite blogs, The Bodeswell's, who have been back in the States for about two months, are officially back in Buenas Aires, and traveling in their 1971 Red VW Bus with their 6-year old Bode.  You just know I'm going to get those big Wanderlust Feelings Again!

"Taken 2" was to violent for me.  I did not enjoy it.  Too much graphic physical harm and threats.  How is that enjoyable?  Wish we would have gone and seen a comedy.  Getting warm again.  Brought the fan back in my room.  Luigi is getting "very" antsy without Sadie to play with.  And it's only been one day so far.  Uh Oh.

Dream. Create. Achieve!

Good day today.  Went to LaImperial for the last time before they closed and had a flauta and a taco.  Listened to two great interviews with Howard Stern today of Victoria Jackson and D.L. Hughley.  Received my VitaMix today.  Beautiful summer weather.  Had the whole day to myself.  Tonight is the second presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

Monday, October 15, 2012

You can create your future today.

This morning dad and I are having brunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Jim's Cafe in Pleasanton, in between  their two doctor appointments.  This weekend they got their new double bed - and spent a good portion of the weekend - cutting their king size blankets to fit their new double bed.  Tonight, dad and I go to our fifth and last CERTS class.  Tonight we go outside at the fire department and put out a fire and practice what to do during a real emergency. This week dad is not going to exercise.  Bill Mack is leaving Tuesday with Mike Lang's RV and the three guys are going golfing from Tuesday thru Friday.

Sunday, October 14, 2012

This is your time to make dreams come true.

Today is Sports Day.  Football, Baseball, Bull Riding, Golf - morning, noon and night.

Saturday, October 13, 2012

Every dream-come-true starts with hope.

Whew!  No rest for the weary.  Yesterday, I had so much trouble with my computer.  Had Norton Security spend about one hour online and cleaned everything out and updated to most current Norton update.  THEN could not find my blog and took about one hour search.  Nothing is ever easy.  That is for sure.  Happily, I have found it.  I literally broke out in a full-body sweat I got so frustrated and worried.

Today, I take Luigi in for his grooming.  Tonight dad and I go to the clubhouse for the pasta feed for the Firemen that we have every year.  Both my Vitamix and my rebounder have shipped.  Hopefully, I will receive both of them this week.  Also, received notice for jury duty for November 8th.  One year sure rolls around quickly.

Keep reading and watching videos about eating healthier.  Can't imagine why it is so difficult for me.  I am a junk-food junkie.  Definitely want to eat healthier.  I ate vegetarian for two years while in Colorado and felt the healthiest I have ever felt in my whole life.  So I know it works.  Not sure what I am resisting.  I think it is the life I am living now that I am resisting.  This is no life.  Don't want to feel too healthy, cuz think I couldn't handle healthy and no-life at the same time.

Friday, October 12, 2012

Any day can be a new beginning.

Quiet Day.  Hope to just relax todcay.  Dad is going to exercise class with Bill Mack.  I'm hoping they go for a drive and a hot dog afterwards.  My cursor is jumping like crazy again.  Hard to type.

Dad and I are having lunch today with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  We are going to Applebees Restaurant in Union Landing, because they want to go to Mancini's and see about buying a new bed.  Instead of a King Size Bed they want to change to a Double Bed.  Interesting, huh?

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Hope can find a way around any obstacle.

Another nice day.  Went to the movies and saw "Won't Back Down" with Maggie Gyllenhaall and Viola Davis.  Roamed around a little and also took a walk through Spanish Ranch Mobile Home Park and listened to Howard Stern's interview with Henry Winkler.  Nice simple day.  Very relaxing and happy.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

This day will bring you reasons to smile.

Did lots of running around today.  Went to the movies and saw "Frankenweenie".  Bought Barbra Streisand's new CD "Release Me".
Also, a pumice stone, and several other little items.  Want to find or buy some "gravel" to make a "foot bath".  I definitely enjoyed my day alone.  Dad was a little touchy/moody/miserable when I got home, but I think he is doing better now.  We had delicious spaghetti for dinner.

Monday, October 8, 2012

Your inner GPS is set to success. Follow it!

Monday is Family Day!  Even though we had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Thursday - pretty much to celebrate Uncle Joe's 90th Birthday!  Today IS Monday.  Monday and Thursday are Family Day.  It's really kinda cool.  Looking forward to it.  I really enjoy spending time with these two special people.  My Aunt.  My Uncle.  My birth Godmother.  My birth Godfather.  I am one Special Lucky Person to have these two people in My Life.

lol  Very Funny.  Auntie Isabel called this morning.  They have two doctor appointments today, tomorrow and Wednesday.  So we won't be having lunch with them until Thursday.  So dad and I went and visited Alma Sweatman next door at the Windsor rehab where she is recuperating with her broken hip.  She may be coming home this week.  Then we went and visited Rose Lopes and Joan Benson at the nursing home in Castro Valley.  Came home and ate delicious spaghetti with Carol's sauce and make chow chow with our new peppers from Stockton.  Beautiful day.  I am going online now and ordering a new Vitamix with the smaller 48 ounce container.

Sunday, October 7, 2012

Look at yourself. You are amazing!

Today we had a great Family Day for Uncle Joe's 90th birthday.  First we all met at his apartment and then spent a couple hours having lunch at Mountain Mike's Pizza.  Perfect day.  We had dad and I, Uncle Joe, Auntie Isabel, Tom, Debbie, Lenny, Deaunn, Jean, Kimmy, Landon, Annie, Krissy, Keith, Tyler, Mason and Sydney.   Perfect day.

Saturday, October 6, 2012

There's no better investment than yourself!

Happy 90th Birthday Uncle Joe!

Happy 6th Birthday Luigi!

What a busy day yesterday.  Lots of running around.  Went to the Health Food Store and  bought Kava Kava to calm down.  Talked to Auntie Isabel.  Told her we are going to start sitting at tables, rather than booths, so that I can sit across from - not next to dad.  Hopefully, he won't be able to whisper negatives into my ear the whole meal.  Fingers crossed this will be our simple solution.  Went online tonight and ordered a Rebounder from Walmart.  Will put it in the backyard so that I can use it each day.  Also, ordered a Millet Hull combo pillow and body from Brett  Rodgers at Vitalitymassage.net.  Sounds cool, huh.  Been playing a lot of Words with Friends.

This afternoon dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel and Tommy at Don Jose's Restaurant in Castro Valley to celebrate Uncle Joe's 90th Birthday!  Took pictures and posted on Facebook and here on my blog.

Thursday, October 4, 2012

There are so many beautiful things in life. Your smile is one of them!

Lunch should be lots of fun today.  Dad and I are having lunch today with Kenny, Lisa, Uncle Joe, and Auntie Isabel at Zorn's Restaurant in Pleasanton.  It will be so good to see Kenny and Lisa.  Lisa is recovering from her ACL surgery.

Grow a brand-new future. Plant a dream!

Bill Mack is golfing today instead of Tuesday this week, so neither he nor dad are going to exercise this morning.  Dad won't go unless Bill goes to exercise.  Since Bob Gulden has died, and Henry Nunes is now too ill to go to exercise any longer, dad won't go.  He doesn't want to be there without the other guys.  Even though there are one or two guys at the class.  He says he doesn't want to go with just the gals, he wants to be with the guys.  I just cannot spend today with him.  I need some space.  His negativity is drowning me.  Hopefully, he will go down to the dining room at the clubhouse and have coffee with the gang today.  We received a flyer that they will be turning off our water for an hour or more today.  I think I am going to go catch a movie and see "Pitch Perfect" and chill.

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Embrace possibilities!

Took dad to the dentist this morning and had his teeth cleaned.  Then we met Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel for lunch in Castro Valley at Doug's Resaurant.  Lots of fun.  It's a pretty hot day today and our air conditioner still just doesn't really seem to be working well.  Finally gave up and opened all the doors and windows.  It is pretty hot and sticky.  Been pretty tense myself today.  Took 1/4 xanax trying to be calm.  Just feeling like I am living in such a negative environment and feeling trapped.  Not certain what would be right for every body.  In a world of No's, is there a right answer?  Tomorrow I just need to get out and about and breathe a little, personal, fresh air.
You light up someone's world.

Last night was the best CERTS class yet.  In two weeks, we have our last class.  It is at the fire station and we will put out a fire and several other hands on drills.  This morning we are taking dad to the dentist for his cleaning.  Then to lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Doug's Restaurant in Castro Valley.  We got home at 10:00pm last night, and his appointment is 8:30am this morning.  That's a pretty fast turn-around these days for the two of us.  lol
Will be happy to get back to our slower pace.  Kinda love it!

Give your energy to your dreams.

Fast day today.  Dad and I ran and did errands this morning.  Also, got his hair cut and had a nice breakfast at McDonalds.  Then I went over to the Sports Park and took a little walk around.  I want to start walking and moving more, eat more fruit and lose some weight and get healthier and more energy.  Heck, who doesn't!  Had a little "brown out" this afternoon.  Now dad has to reset all his clocks.  lol  Tonight we go to our fourth CERTS meeting.  Dad is doing so much better.  Even getting around without a cane!  God Bless Him.  He has really been doing the exercises the physical therapist taught him, and they are really working!  Definitely want to enjoy this while we have it.

Sunday, September 30, 2012

There is so much to be grateful for!

What a nice weekend.  Nice relaxing Sunday.  Made bacon and eggs for breakfast and watched a Great San Franfrancisco 49ers football game.  Watched Huell Howser and Judge Judy while taping the Oakland Raiders.  Good thing.  We got beat so badly, and just fast forwarded through most of it.  lol  One of our newer (2 years) neighbors, Dawn, came by to pick up the Security Patrol box and she was so good with Luigi.  Played fetch.  Had him behave.  Even had him giving her kisses.  He is now, blissfully, passed out.  Loving it.  He was So Cute!  I'm thinking about getting a colonics kit with the board.

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Today could be your best one yet.

Yes, today could be one of our best days yet.  Dad and I went to the Cousins Family Lunch at Darla's house in Mountain House today.  This is the first time that dad and I have been to the new house.  It is really big and wonderful.  Three car garage, six bathrooms and a whole lot more.   I took the tour twice.  I loved every inch and every detail of the house.  Today there was dad, me, Darla, Bill, Carlotta, Jim, Marlene, Debbie, Lenny, Deaunn, Jean, Rebecca, Anthony, Rachel, Cara, and Raymond.  We ate in the backyard.  Too many beautiful details to tell.  We were there for four hours.  The time just flew by, and we had fun every minute of today.  I have to say, I really, really enjoyed today.

Friday, September 28, 2012

It's okay to take care of yourself, too!

Today, I went and saw the movie, "Hotel Transylvania".  Bought a watermelon and bananas.  This afternoon, dad and I took Luigi across the street to the park to play, and he rolled in a big pile of dog s*$!  Brought him home and gave him a shower.  Dad is definitely doing better today.  Using his cane instead of the walker.  Able to use the stairs.  Even hosed down the cars.  Taking it slow and easy.

Thursday, September 27, 2012

You inspire smiles!

Isn't it interesting how I can be so tired during the day and early evenings - and then WIDE AWAKE at night.  It happens to me all the time.  I love the quiet and peacefulness of the night time.  I can think clearly and get so much done.  I really feel invigorated.

Nice summer day.  Played Words with Friends all morning.  Also, studying and learning a bit more about playing the game.  Then dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel.  Went to Yanni's Grill Cafe at the Automobile Auction here in Hayward.  It's really the employees cafeteria, but they have a special menu for non-employees.  Great sandwiches, including soda and french fries - $5.00 - tax included.  Really friendly.  Yanni's will be hosting our Firemen's Spaghetti feed here in the park October 13th.  Always a fun time.

Bought more bananas.  Yeah, I'm doing really poorly on eating healthy.  Ate a whole bag of Hot Buffalo Wings pretzels in the last two days.  Good stuff - bad for ya.  Sold and shipped my Vita-mix on eBay.  Turns out I may have to wait 21 days to receive my money from eBay.  The gal sent PayPal like in literally five minutes, but eBay has all kinds of frustrating rules to keep your money.  Not really too happy with eBay.  Think I've decided to get the new Vita-mix with the smaller 48 ounce container to fit under the counter.  If I would have known from the beginning, I think I could have just bought the container.  Live and learn.  S L O W L Y   (what else is new).  Did a self video of myself last night.  Boy, am I FAT!  Thinking about including a video bio of me trying to lose weight.  Hopefully, it will make me more accountable.  Not sure if I want to do it on my blog or on my YouTube.  I "think" I can make a separate YouTube channel for something specific like that.

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Things are going to be great!

Got so much accomplished today.  When I got home, dad is doing so much better.  The patient Lives!   Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm already breathing easier right now.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Beautiful is part of who you are.

Ran around and got some errands done this morning.  This afternoon dad and I had lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel at Norman's Restaurant in Castro Valley.  Currently one of our favorite restaurants.  Then dad and I ran over to Kaiser and picked up his new glasses.  I like them.  It is sure a lot of work getting dad in and out of the house and in and out of my car with these walkers.  My car is so small and he can barely move.  He's a trooper and just takes his time and we are making it.  Sure hope he gets better.  We're not sure what to expect right now.  Watched Barbra Streisand on Katie Couric's new talk show.  I'm just a little worn out right now.  Going to get a little rest.

Monday, September 24, 2012

You're ready to shine now!

Such a busy day.  Cancel Family Lunch.  Several calls to Kaiser.  Dr. Waterhouse is out of the office until the end of the month.  We finally got an appointment for 2:30pm for Physical Therapy for dad.  Tonight we have CERTS from 6:00pm to 9:30pm.  Spent all morning cleaning and cutting fruits and vegies, making salad and sandwiches.  Also watched two good movies on TCM with the Marx Brothers and Roy Rogers.  Beautiful day today.

Such a busy day.  I'm exhausted, but it was a good CERTS class.  The Physical Therapist gave dad some exercises to do, told him to ice, take pain pills and come back in one week.  Looks like the pain in his leg is not so much the back right now, as the hips.  Seems he has a LOT of arthritis in his hips.  He really couldn't tell us if he thought it would get better or not.  Every step is agonizing for dad.  Sometimes he cannot move the leg at all.  Sure hope it gets better every day.  But - One Day At A Time.  Sweet Dreams.

Sunday, September 23, 2012

Believe! You are destined to achieve!

Dad still having the most difficult time getting around.  That tweaked nerve is really something.  Going to email his doctor tonight and request he recommend a physical therapist for dad.  Made bacon and eggs for breakfast.  Did two loads of laundry.  Put dad and Luigi in the car and I ran in and did a little shopping at the Dollar Store, Rite Aid and Lucky's and we grabbed a bite to eat at Jack-in-the-Box.  Every movement for poor dad is tortuous.  Can't wait to get him some relief.  But if he sits quietly he does pretty good and we had a nice warm summer day.

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Miracles still happen.

Quiet day at home.  Dad really cannot get around too well.  Monday we will contact his doctor and ask for a physical therapy appointment.  We made a nice big pot of spaghetti and used the delicious red sauce that Cheri made for us.  Then we popped the caramel microwave popcorn that Carol brought us.  Enjoying the golf game, A's baseball, and playing Words With Friends.  And, of course, Luigi is participating in everything.  Bill and Sadie have already come over this morning and this afternoon.  Dad couldn't go to the Disaster Meeting at the Shed, only two coaches over, so people stopped by and checked on dad.

Friday, September 21, 2012

Choose happiness!

Dad and I are having lunch today with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel in Castro Valley at Don Jose's Mexican Restaurant.  Always lots of fun.

Luigi just had too much energy this afternoon.  Dad and I Luigi across the street to the park.  Bill and Sadie joined us.  Now Bill and Sadie are here playing.  Dad is really frustrated because he cannot walk.  We will probably email his doctor Monday and see if we can schedule an appointment with a physical therapist sooner rather than later.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

The real you is amazing!

Uncle Joe has his physical therapy at the Veterans in Livermore this morning, so we decided not to meet for Family Lunch today.  Dad really wants to see the doctor at 2:00pm about his leg and having so much difficulty walking since he took that fall Monday night.  This is kinda scary stuff.

Alma next door, did break her hip in her fall yesterday.  They are going to operate on her this morning.

Last night Bill came over.  Turns out dads crutches cannot be made any smaller.  He has shrunk from 5'11" to 5'3".  Plus he bends over crooked to the right, about half his size.  They are going to the shed this morning to find a smaller set of crutches.  He really needs to use his walker, but he does love making things difficult on himself.  lol  This is the "short version" of frustration of working with this guy.  I think everything hurts his back, poor guy.

Last night we had fun.  Bill put up the little two-man tent in our family room, that we just won at CERTS Monday night.  It's actually a really nice little tent.  Makes you want to run and take a quick camping overnight under the stars.

The doctor said dad may have an aggravated nerve and to take it easy for two weeks.  If he is still having a lot of trouble, the doctor will send him to the physical therapist.  Kaiser also gave both dad and I our flu shots right in the office.

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Encourage yourself, too!

Aaaarg!  Blogger seems to have reverted to the new system again!  I wish they would stop switching.   It is so frustrating.  You get use to doing it one way, then they insist you change to their new way.  I need to settle down and check out Wordpress.  Just so busy!  tee hee  Playing Words With Friends.  So far, I think I have lost every single game.  Hopefully, I will continue to improve.  I am really loving it.  Today I am taking a photo of my Vita-Mix Super 5000 Total Nutrition Center which includes both containers for wet and dry ingredients and the tamper.  I checked on eBay and they are receiving quite a few bids and pretty good amounts.  Would like to use the money I make selling my Vita-Mix toward buying a Blendtec.  It's looking pretty good right now.  Already written everything up - just need to insert photo.  It's always easier to do while dad is at exercise class.

Here dad is walking all wobbly.  Today, Bill and I made him use his electric chair lift to get up and down the steps.  He is really unstable right now.  And just about thirty minutes ago, about 1:30pm - our next door neighbor, Alma, age 82, was found on the ground outside by a passerby.  I had a chance to speak with Alma in the Paramedics truck.  She thinks she has broken her hip.  Dad and I will go over to St. Rose Hospital tonight about 6:00pm and try and see her.

Dad's right leg is really giving him a hard time.  He can barely walk at all right now, and it got to hurting so much, that we called Kaiser and made an appointment to see his doctor tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Play more!

Taking dad to Kaiser today for an eye doctor appointment.  He has been saying he can't see very well lately.  Might be his cataract is ready to be removed.  Sure hope so.

Great eye doctor visit.  May not need cataract surgery yet.  New glasses should improve vision, but may still be a little blurry.  Great new frames.  We're definitely trying the glasses first.  Told to come back in one year for re-evaluation.  Dad is very happy.

Turns out I started a bunch of games for "Words With Friends", but several people are not playing back - AND - you cannot resign if signed up with friends - only Random connections.  I'd better email several people and see if we can make three "passes" and end these games so that I can move on.  Sure hope they help me.

Monday, September 17, 2012

Believe in you, your dreams, your destiny!

Busy day today.  Dad and I are having lunch with Uncle Joe and Auntie Isabel in Dublin at Country Waffles.  Afterwards, the four of us are going across the street to the Dollar Tree Store.  This is the Best Dollar Store we have ever seen.  They have Everything.  Tonight we are attending our second night, of five nights, at CERTS - Commuity Emergency Response Team - Basic Training.  We are training where, I guess the Supervisors convene.  Plush seats, very fancy.  Very comfortable.  Which is great  because each class is 3 1/2 hours.  Pretty long classes.  I think I am going to sell my VitaMix on eBay and buy a Blendtec.  Having fun playing, "Words With Friends".

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Welcome what life brings, and it'll bring you good things!

What fun I'm having playing "Words With Friends".  Cheri taught me when she was here and now I am playing it with several other people.  Also, watching a few videos on YouTube trying to get a bit of strategy.  Used to love to play scrabble when I was young.  I wanted to start learning how to blog using WordPress and now am totally distracted with this game.  Never a dull moment.  lol

All the good things in life are waiting to be claimed by you.

What a fun day.  I have been so busy reading about full-time rving (and wanting to full-time rv myself  soooooo  much).  And also reading about possibly changing my blog from blogspot to Wordpress - I almost forgot to post my own blog here tonight.  Dad and I took Luigi to the dog park today.  For some reason, all of the grounds were really muddy.  So muddy, that we had to give Luigi a shower tonight.  He was just caked in mud!  We also went to McDonald's and shared their 20-piece nuggest with spicy sauce.  Kinda fun.  Bill came over and helped us change the bulb on the big lamp over the TV.  I froze two large bunches of bananas to make into ice cream on another day.  And, of course, made lots of homemade, microwave, airpopped - in a brown sandwich bag, popcorn with butter.  Added salt and parmesian cheese.  Can't beat it.  I just want to mention how blessed I am - we are - to have the freedom of each day to do what we want to do.  Not a lot of people have that freedom.  I don't know why we do, but I sure do love and appreciate it!

Every dream starts with a first step.

Last night, around 9:30pm dad fell - again.  He was in his bedroom, and fortunately he had one of his whistles in the drawer right there.  He blew the whistle, and when I came to check on him, sure enough he was on the floor.  So, I went and got a small stool that Cheri's dad had made for dad.  He used it to get up part way, and then used the dresser to pull him up all the way.  This is about the third fall in two months or so.  That right leg keeps giving out on him.  He scraped his knee and has a nice bruise right on the knee.  We'll see how he does getting out of bed.  Not sure if he will be able to go to exercise.  Sure hope so.

Dad did not go to exercise, but he is doing well.  He and Bill Mack went out for hot dogs and a nice long drive.  The air conditioning guy came and disconnected the PG&E Smart Meter and added another new part.  The air conditioner is working fine again.  Burned two CDs for Carol Mack.  Haven't burned a CD in years.  Lots of fun.  Bill came to replace our long light bulb over the counter - turns out the cleaning ladies had accidentally unplugged it.  Now, it appears the light bulb in the lamp over the TV actually has burned out.  It's too heavy and too dangerous right by the TV.  Dad has zero strength.  So, we will ask Bill to help us when we see him.  Bill is having trouble breathing and has been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and they gave him that big breathing mask with tube.  He doesn't like it.  I gave him some breathing strips and Simply Saline.  We'll see how he does.  I made lots of ice cream from my frozen bananas.  Kind of a hassel.  You know, I like things simple.  We'll see how it goes.  Just a nice, enjoyable day.

You're already terrific!

This morning the cleaning ladies are coming and dad and I will go to the dining room table at the club house for an hour.  Then we are going to make a pot of coffee, take Luigi with us, and buy sandwiches from the sandwich shop next to the hair salon where Auntie Isabel has her hair done.  Then the four of us are coming back to our house and have a nice Family Lunch.  Perfect time to have our house nice and clean, huh!  I ate the banana ice cream last night that I had made in the VitaMix yesterday morning.  Delicious!  And it's just bananas.  Very cool!  Also, I put together the shower stool for dad.  HOPE I put it together correctly.  Probably should have Bill double check it.  Haven't shown dad it yet.  Might show him this morning and see what he says.

Day went great.  Lunch was great.  "Think" dad likes stool.  Got more fresh tomatoes from Bill's tomato garden.  Only thing is, turns out that our air conditioner is still not working.  Poor dad, he does like to obsess.  So, we will call tomorrow and ask them to come out to the house again.  Otherwise, a really great day.
